Support 12-20+ minutes (Never instant) (My lowest ranked role so should have the quickest queues it doesn’t)
DPS 3-6 minutes avrg (Sometimes instant)
Tank 1-2 minutes avrg (Practically always instant or super short) - My highest role is tank as well so there should be less players there but instead the queues are the shortest still.
I think this fundamentally shows something even when there are barely any players in a given elo in high rating Tank still has the shortest queue (Most unenjoyable role) I preferred winston onetricking in 6v6.
Support has the longest queue (Most overtuned broken role) Clearly needs nerfing.
DPS decently balanced just borderline miserable because support is broken unlike tank which even after supports are brought inline I think tank will still feel somewhat miserable.
Why would it be different if there are less players??
I think we all know that some roles are liked, and others aren’t. It’s been a problem for queue times in OW ever since RQ was introduced. This is not something new.
Less players usually means longer queue times because you have to wait for the like 1000 players to cycle between their games to start a new one.
For example take players in high t500 say they can only queue with only t500 players and there are only 200 players online out of the 500 that means there can only be 20 games running at a time.
So you can’t have any games in between those games unless one of them end to start another.
So normally the higher rank you have the longer the queues, that’s why queue times don’t really effect the most common ranks like platinum as bad because they can just keep starting games over and over because of the sheer player numbers.
Yeah it did and OW2 was supposed to make that better by having 1/2 the requirement
I deleted my previous post to you btw because it didn’t relate to the actual post if u was wondering.
Yes, queue times will always be higher in smaller populated ranks, but what does that have to do with role distribution?? It will be the same. 1% of people queuing tanks is 1%, whether it’s top 500 or bronze or plat.
Essentially what I’m saying is my tank role is GM2 meanwhile my support role is almost masters being GM5 (Which is t500 at the moment for tank)
So my Support role should have more players available to queue with but the queue time is still astronomically longer than the tank one.
So although it wouldn’t be as big of a jump if my Tank was GM and my Support was Diamond or something like that I’m saying that my Tank role has a lot less players available and still has the overwhelmingly shortest queue compared to my other two roles.
Showing just how OP support is and just how miserable tank is.
If you play role flex you’re garunteed to play tank.
And if you’re playing tank you’re garunteed to need to swap every fight if you play anything other than Ramattra or Orisa very fun interactive gameplay.
I see. Well, yeah. But you can see the exact same thing in ANY rank. Tank times are WAY shorter than supports. Your example doesn’t show that any more than just looking at queue times for every rank.
