Still no news on the queue times, sat here as low play and high silver 1 game in 90 minutes. This is absolutely ridiculous, we actually downloaded apex and paladins so we might be able to play a game this side of Christmas. This needs addressing

Oh, you meant wide group waiting times. That’s starting to make more sense now.

I’m saying in 90 mins of play time I have played one match. I am currently sat at 40mins 48 seconds

Silver and gold are the most populated ranks and no matter the role you always get a game in under 2 minutes. I have the feeling you are not telling us the complete story.
Silver 3 and plat 4, 50 minutes and counting. We’ve played together for 2 years and since this update we now can’t as we are classed as a wide time, it’s absolutely stupid

Aha! So you are playing as a wide group! Yes, they said that it will take longer, because they want to find also a silver and plat player who play together to match against you. If that is not happening: no match.
Just play QP then. Your ranks are to far apart. It is what it is.

It’s rubbish is what it is. Played for years, sank loads of money into the game and now I either play alone (in a team shooter), throw games to get a lower rank, or quit comp altogether. That’s crap

Its called “skill gap”. I am sorry, but if your friend is bad at the game and you are above average, you should not play comp together. How hard is this to understand?

Wasn’t the restriction before limited to 3 skill tier difference up to Diamond? It’d make sense Bornvillain1 is irritated with the recent changes.
No, it was 8 divisions I think and now its one rank. People always cry about unbalanced games, but when they try to lower the gap, people also cry about that.

You’re correct mostly but it seems to be 10 divisions up to Diamond according to the wiki after checking. So that’d mean Bornvillain1 and his friend should’ve been able to group together as a Plat 4 and Silver 3 prior to this update just barely. It’s understandable why they’re upset then I guess.
I wouldn’t throw games to get a lower rank. You’ll most likely get banned for it eventually. You can create a new account though to join your friend again.
If that’s what it is then that’s what it is but as someone who’s played since day one and spends money regularly I’m out if that’s the case
Just made a smurf for this reason. No other way around. Overall stupid change.

You could just help your friend out a bit on your alternate account to get him in your main account’s range. I highly doubt they belong in Silver if they’ve stuck with you for 2 years.
So to play I have to throw or I have to Smurf, that’s madness
Metal ranks are a lot more similar than most people think. You might end up Bronze or Diamond depending on your placements. Why don’t you give it a try and let the rest of us know later with an update?
I have nearly 8 years worth of cosmetics and progress, I shouldn’t have to give that up to play with a friend. That’s mental
Wide Groups are just not working. I hope they revert this awful change next season. I cannot even play support anymore. The ONLY benefit is that I get credit for queueing all roles without the risk of getting support.

it is a dilemma tho. i mean the game should be where you can play with your friends with no restrictions but then yea you can have skill all over the place and everyone will complain about matchmaking
funny thing this season im losing so much in comp and im solo queueing lol so i wonder if i was carried by groups in the old system 
seems like matchmaking is worse hah. probably my own personal experience
edit: well in season 8 i only solo queued but most of season 9 i was in a premade group with a friend i found. havnt queued with him since yea wide group is just too long. wasnt really a friend much either, more just like an acquaintance. he had really good premade groups tho
