Queue Times Solved Forever

This sounds absolutely awful, what are you smoking. ‘Tickets’ to play other roles? Really? You know there are people that don’t like playing DPS right? You know support mains already exist? This ‘ticket’ idea is one of the worst ideas i’ve ever seen come out of this forum. I cannot believe you want to lock specific core aspects of this game behind a rotating and resetting battle pass. You are absolutely out of your mind and this thread would be better off deleted so we wouldn’t have to remember it exists.

Dude don’t quote this like it’s a bad idea and a gotcha moment at the same time, you are just deranged.

People have to be willing to play other roles of their own accord. And also have the desire to be better in that role. Forcing people to play other roles will have as much impact as our flimsy gratitude service we currently have for people willing to play tanks. They will play tank just to play tank and reap the minuscule benefits (like priority passes, another joke)

I’m sorry but this is very bad. No cotent should be re-locked. People want to jump on their favorite gamemode on their favorite role as soon as possible and that’s it.

What really would fix queue times is making all roles as diverse, fun and rewarding to play as possible.

Oh, I completely agree. But if you read the post you’d understand I too hate this concept but have a hunch this is what we’re in for.

The reality is if this game kicks off with 10-15min queues it’s DOA.

They must incentivize players to queue support. But we all know how worthless Priority Passes currently are and how many players opt to not touch them. Instead they’ll need a way to force players into the support queue. And I think locking game-mode behind a Battle Pass and locking roles behind a Battle Pass is the future of this franchise.

yup…

It’s because of that same logic anyone who truly cares about OW should quit.

The only way to see tangible and meaningful changes to this long suffering franchise is to hit Blizzard’s wallets and force Microsoft to overhaul the leadership.

3 years with virtually no content. No tangible launch date for PVE. 3 new heroes after a 3 year wait. Impending monetization of the entire game design. These are red flags people.

Get out while your wallets and sanity are still intact. And I’m telling you if enough of us do exactly this the game will actually change for the better.

It will be the same as it is now just with supports. And bonus XP for the pass instead of credits would make sense. They dont force you to play them. They give the people that play them a “thank you” for playing it and incentivize others to maybe play a round or two as well.

Open queue is/was bad and 5v5 needs less players than 6v6 so the queue times will be faster naturally.

Did you miss the two rounds of beta testing where queues were 10-15 mins for BOTH DPS and Tank?

Why/how is this being addressed prior to the release of OW2?

The data was quite consistent over the combined 6 weeks of testing.

I didnt even read it because the solution is so long that its already wrong.

I could see this happening. Blizzard choosing some overly complicated method to fix the issue which ends up doing nothing or making the issue worse instead of fixing the problem that caused the issue in the first place.

Yes.

I am not a fan of my own solution either, I just genuinely played “Think Like a Dev”.

Over complicate, ignore balance, remove content, and then provide a hated and useless solution.
