What is the best way to voice chat in a competitive game?
I am aware you have to press the " \ " key to enable voice chat, but I struggle doing that a lot because it takes my focus away from the game and cripples my movement doing so because I have to move my hand away from the WASD keys, how would one properly voice chat In a overwatch game? (without using Discord, I am talking about in-game chat only).
I’ve actually mapped “Push to Talk” to my middle mouse button. This way it keeps my left hand free for movement and keeps my focus on the game. Or you could just have open comms (Although this can get annoying if you have a lot of background noise> I’ve muted people because of this).
I also tried the middle mouse button, but I too found this to be a problem because I generally wanted to talk when I was being harassed (I usually play Zen) but I can’t really afford to press middle mouse button in the middle of a fight. I’m starting to think having open comms is the best option, though it is a pretty gross one.
Open, my keyboard/room is quiet though and I keep my mic away from my mouth so I have to project for it to pick up. If I have to cough or rage, I mute it.
