How old was Junkrat during Omnium Fusion Core Explosion that resulted from the A.L.F’s attack? Currently it seems abiguiously between 5 and 15 years old. (Presumably the Escalation would have taken a while, and not simply immediately, so I would presume a few years had passed inbetween the 19-10 years prior to current date, making Junkrat possibly 10 or 15?)
What were the effects of the radiation on local flora, fauna, climate, and population?
Did Jameson lose any limbs in the explosion or aftermath? (not to his own explosive tinkering)
Did Jameson lose any family or other during those events?
Does any of this have to do with why Junkrat doesnt like ’ suits’ ( Buisness men, aristocrats, etc) Or is that just a byproduct of being raised… living as a Junker?
Is Junkrats… state… akin to a “one bad day” scenario?
Will Mei ever say something nice back to Junkrat? (He even learned how to say Gong Xi Fi Cai for the Chinese New Year)

We know Roadhog (who’s 48 I think?) Fought in the ALF though
Ok, after the omnic crisis the Australian government gave the omnics the outback omnium and surrounding lands. The ALF was formed and attacked the omnium eventually resulting in its explosion which radiated a massive area of the outback.
Its speculated this happened 20 years ago.

We know that he lost his arm and leg at two different times, Jeff stated that he blew off his leg (and laughed about it)
We dont know when or how he lost his arm, but he had a prosthetic arm when hammond was fighting in the arena. Though we dont know which one he lost first either.
Its said in his profile that the radiation gave him a touch of madness that gave him an obsession with bombs.
Junkrat apparently teaches himself a lot of things according to chu, him learning Gong Xi Fa Cai has nothing to do with Mei. He is a known and wanted criminal as well as an anarchist, so I doubt mei or any lawfully aligned character will say anything nice anytime soon.
Other than that, we dont know anything about his family, or his life growing up in a wasteland.
I’ve wanted a short story or comic about it for years but at the rate lore is going I doubt it’ll ever be expanded on.
Which is a shame, rat has potentially one of the saddest background stories in the game.
Junkrat was 5 when the omnium blew. Interestingly enough though, there’s a voice line in Heroes of the Storm that implies Junkrat only lost his leg to his explosives. Whether or not that’s canon or not is up to the devs. Considering he’s a scavenger and a thief, I wouldn’t be surprised if it got cut off as punishment. Maybe even lost it in the original omnium blast.
And I don’t think Mei would want to kindly associate with a member of a gang responsible for blowing up omnics as well as destroying a large chunk of the environment. She is a climatologist and omnic sympathizer after all.
Honestly, I’d love to get some Junkrat lore outside of wacky looney toon-esque shenanigans. There is probably some pretty tragic events that lead to his current mental state.
(kinda like Tiny Tina or Patricia Tannis if you’re borderlands fans)
Omnic Crisys was before the Omnium explosion. After the crysis the Omnics were given a place in Australia that displaced local and transient people there. Which is what caused their own conflict , and after an unknown time of escalation, the Australian Liberation Front blew up the Omnium reactor. this takes place AFTER The omnic crisis durring what was supposed to be a peace time of recovery.
Its listed as anywhere between 19 - 10 years, because the date of the event seems to have not been nailed down.
To current knowledge, all we know is he’s hurt bad people. And done some robbery… Nothing outside of batman criminal/protagonist levels of crime. Theres a psychosis at work.

We haven’t seen all of his spree, he’s a villain, accept his bad with his charm, he’s done a lot we haven’t seen.
The event happened before Hammond landed on Earth, which was ~11 years ago, give or take a year. Junkertown was already built when he landed, so it probably happened a few years before that. I’d wager no later than ~15 years ago.
Its end is usually estimated to be before White Dome, which was 23 years ago, as that was just cleaning up a pocket of omnic resistance with new members in Overwatch, rather than an active Omnic Crisis operation. The crisis probably ended around when Junkrat was born, give or take a year.
If you check their sources, they literaly just guessed the date for the ALF Attack and ultimate destruction of the Omnium reactor. So theres parts on that list that are out of sync.
His injuries have nothing to do with the omnic crisis, that was years before the ALF and the destruction of the omnium reactor…
