Question for master/GM Genjis

When should i double jump? Just when they’re looking at me? Or should i spam it 24/7 (i feel like the 2nd one is wrong)

Rn you should be fine but the higher you go, it becomes more predictable and easier to land shots on a double jumping genji so you would want to avoid double jumping against hanzo (at close/mid range), mccree, and widow.

AD spam instead? Also is there a situation where double jump is useful, Like when should i use it? And ye im just a garbage gold genji who spams double jump 24/7 which is a habit i need to break. This isnt my acc btw its my friends smurf. My real acc is called MercyMainTrash and my dps is Ranked 2400 but i actually belong in bronze

I’ve honestly gotten used to it from habit so I just gave a little bit of input that I can.

So maybe i should just try double jumping for longer range? I do know i need to not spam it all the time

I’ll try and get back to this tomorrow, though hopefully someone else can come around and help.

Yeah it’s all good, thx for the input. I thought prolly no one would reply since there’s not many higher SR players on the forums let alone high SR genji players. Plus it’s like 3:30 AM where i am rn

It’s 12:30 oof. I’ll try and pay attention to my double jumps and I’ll try to explain my reasoning. (This is honestly good practice for myself to reason stuff out instead of just going by habit)

So I guess more stuff though not the best still. You can spam double jump at far/medium ranges if they aren’t hitting you, though once they do start playing around corners.
Double jump can help you get to higher and higher positions so that you can start to shoot over their shield, use double jump to let you get some great vantage spots to build ult charge, stop double jumping generally if you need to finish someone off as that will screw up your own aim.
Also use double jump to let you jump around corners and then go back to the original high ground, you can do this with single jumps but the double jump gives you even more range/leeway to go out.
