Question about throwing

So I’m really bad at Symmetra, like low bronze tier bad. I’m literally the worst Symmetra player in the game. Am I allowed to choose Symmetra in competitive, try my absolute best with her, knowing it’ll end in a loss due to my awful Symmetra skills? This is all theoretically speaking of course.
Because if I’m actually allowed to do this then someone needs to change the rules because it’s bs.

Your in bronze just play what you want, have fun, and try your best :man_shrugging:

I’m in masters, so what then.

If you know for sure that your team is loosing because of your hero pick and don’t switch it is soft throwing. System won’t punish you for it unless you get multiple reports.

it’s not like people wont report you anyway. Even if you’ll be good. It’s not about being good or bad, it’s about system abuse against things people don’t like

If you know that it will result in a loss, it’s throwing

It’s a loophole. People will hate you. They would probably avoid and report you. But based on blizzard’s ridiculous decision, you’re playing what you want. So it’s not throwing.

But that doesn’t mean that auto ban system wouldn’t affect you. People can still report you and if it passes a certain point, you’ll be suspended.

yes technically it isnt reportable because you are doing your best with said hero
a hero choice isnt throwing even if you are bad at them because everyone has off days and you cant report or ban someone because they are bad so it will never and should never change

you got there playing sym i presume so i mean i don’t see the problem.

I got to masters by playing tracer, I stayed in by filling.

Is it reportable? No, but people will report you for it.
Is it throwing? Yeah, it kinda is.

Unless she’s your best hero AND you can’t play any heroes that suit the situation better. Then, it’s not reportable OR throwing.

I was about to say, according to Blizzard’s current rules, you can’t get reported for playing whoever you want but if you go into a battle knowing you are going to be an inconvinicence to yourself and your team (since you just admitted it in the quote above), then yes that is throwing and is reportable.

well what reason do you have to play symmetra particularly  why not hanzo or zarya or ana or anything else  your masters so you must be sufficient at a good chunk of the roster.

Blizzard has stated hero choice is not a reason for reporting (the report cards say this too).

People keep trying to ‘twist’ the definition of throwing/feeding (like you’ve done in your OP but it doesn’t change the fact Blizzard have said hero choice = no report.

Until they say otherwise, let it go.

You’d think that but I reeeaally suck at symmetra.

Which for my symmetra example this rule is bs. I’d basically be throwing just by selecting Symmetra, which I could use to derank to silver, then just demolish everyone as a master level hanzo/hitscan main. It’s literally bad for everyone.

I hear ya and I totally understand people’s frustration.

That said, it’s simply not reportable.

I think it’s because we’re getting in to the realm of players ‘thinking’ they know what’s right for the match/being slaves to meta-picks/etc.

Below diamond people are just parroting things they read on the forums/hear their fave YT’ers say without really knowing who’s contributing/not contributing.

I did a test a season (2?) ago and played Sym for 20 matches straight. Even with a 75% WIN PERCENTAGE at some points I immediately got harassed after selecting her.

People make brainless reactions to heroes they ‘deem’ not useful or ‘blame’ off-meta heroes during a loss.
