I wanted to do open queue with my duo - we are both within queuing range and can role queue together. But it says that our skill difference is stopping us from queueing in open queue? Can any tell me what the reason for that is?

Competitive, considering you can queue with anyone in QP.
Comp Q’s and Open Queue are different, so we are told. One of you either A. hasn’t done the initial requirements of getting access to comp, or B you are actually not the same skill in a comp env. Unfortunate truth.
I can play with my brother in QP as a duo or 6 stack with our mates. My bro has placed in comp way higher than me.
