Question about Mousepad

As a distraction from the usual stuff, just wondering if anyone here has used/is using a glass mousepad?

I got my Viper V3 Pro mouse today, and was hoping to use it on my new pad, but alas delivery is now tomorrow instead of today which makes me have the sads :sob: .

Was just wondering what peoples experience has been like using the pad, especially if anyone has the same mouse type, as I’ve always been a clothie/hybrid pad user.

For reference, the specific pad I’ll be using is Wallhack SP-004 glass mousepad.

And tbh, I didn’t even know such mousepads existed lol. I also had to buy myself an arm sleeve because aparantly when a certain temperature threshold is exceeded, my arm will stick to the pad-which would be awkward lol.

Usually I wouldn’t recommend, due some sensors works better in specific surfaces and colors than others.

At same time, just the ability to get nasty and make the mouse flying to the wall or to the ground would even make it less functional. Making an expensive endeavor.

Trying to reduce the friction would lead to the opposite intent of the product while also usually the friction doesn’t exactly play a huge factor due there are some pretty decent mousepads out there.

If it works for you, good for you. But usually I find them impractical.

Glass mouse pads are great, very smooth, just expect ur aim to feel faster, u may need to adjust ur dpi slightly, wipe off ur mouse feet and pad a lot, clean pad with Windex occasionally

Thanks for the heads up. And yeah I just found out about the dust-apparently even 1 speck can cause noise and make it feel horrible. Also have some Obsidian Pro Air “dots” for the mouse skates because apparently it can do a number on them-good job I already had some from my previous mouse lol.

IMO, no to glass mousepads. I’d frankly use a wood one before a glass one.

I don’t wanna say they’re really expensive and what if you break it, but they’re really expensive and what if you break it?

Sweat and grime (and literally anything else on the surface) also exist.

Well I’ve been testing it out since it was delivered and good lord. It’s soooo quick lmao. But the control is really impressive, it’s a perfect combo with my new Viper V3 Pro. It will defo take getting used to though. Despite the real nice control, I can still see a bit of hand jitter but that’s something that’ll get ironed out.

I do have Obsidian Pro Air dots to swap in place of the stock skates, but hard to say if I need to swap out yet. And I can see why I was advised to get the arm sleeve-easy to see my arm sticking to the pad when it gets humid.

If you have OCD you may want to stay away-you can literally see EVERY SINGLE DUST FLECK-you will be wiping and as soon as you see a speck it’s cloth out lol.

One nice touch is that the box it came in was real nice-seals with magnets, and you get a microfibre cloth to wipe it down and get rid of any dust.

I’m a VERY happy gamer right now.

Side note: very relieved I got my dual monitor arms though-it does eat up a fair chunk of my desk space.

Glaspads will eat your skates, also every dust particle will feel crunchy 24/7. you have zero controll on glass.
Im using Artisan Raiden mid with a Lamzu Maya x 8K and High sens, wich is already fast and has close to no friction. For High Sens play thats perfect imo ( 5300dpi 2.92 IG roughly 9cm/360)

i tried glass skates, but they stick to much to the mousepad, so wouldnt recommend that either.

Try it out, but i would recommend the Raiden if you want something fast that doesnt eat your skates and is due to cleaning every day.

Using the Wallhack SP-004, feels so slick. And Pro Air dots I haven’t tried yet, but so far it’s feeling really nice. I was expecting the mouse to shoot across the pad after watching videos on youtube, but apparently Razer have accounted for their Atlas pad and made the skates heavier-don’t know if that’s true or not though, as I’ve switched from Logitech, but so far it does feel good.

And the silicone base underneath gives a real solid grip, real nice.

That’s awesome!

I currently have a DIY pad I made with a 1mm steel plate with rain cover cloth; so the glue won’t pass to the surface when applying it for the first time

And it is extremely fast.
Also incredibly dumb-easy to renew after a year or whatever time its been used. And you can also clean it regularly at any time

and it is also super cheap. Because its just rain cloth xD
But you can use any other type you like for creating the feeling of Control, Hybrid, or Hard pads

I actually wanted to replace it with the SP004, or the Akari from Glsswrks, but I got very worried about the glass eating the mouse skates

because that’s what glass pads do xD

But in any case, I recommend the Esptiger Dot shaped skates.
They are amazing and perfectly replaceable

Side Note, I never had to change those skates yet because in between the strenght of the surfaces, and the cloth being the softest, I only swap the cloth every now and then; and only takes like
less than an hour to have it ready to go again

Check out Optimum’s video on Glass Pads.
He actually reviewed the Wallhack 004

Watching Optimum is what me made buy it-along with the dots and Pulsar sleeve lol. The sleeve is really comfortable as well, nice snug fit.

Been using it 4-5 hours now and I absolutely love it. It’s definately had a positive impact on gameplay. I just can’t get over how great it is. I was worried about the skates of my Viper V3, but Razer took into account their own Atlas pad so took that into consideration with the mouse build. It was pricey I won’t lie-but I feel like it’s been worth it so far.

It’s such a great combo I won’t lie. But as I suspected it doesn’t mask my poor decision making during games lol

That was a very good feedback to consider

Many believe that the best way to go is with pairing both Pads, and Mouse, from the same brand; as they can stick to their claims, since they base the development and testing, with their own products

but I think we’ll survive mixing different styles from whatever the player feels more comfortable with xD

And yeah, Optimum’s reviews could be the best and more reliable out there

Yeah I’ve seen his stuff for a while now. It’s just nice and simple and to the point-as videos should be

I also did that on the pad

Because I use a plastic plate on top of the entire desk, and regardless of having no sharp sides or corners, I knew the steel was going to shred it the moment I moved that mousepad lol

What he does is actually beyond complicated xD

But! The secret is that he goes around the concepts in a very fluid way, so everyone can understand the idea behind whatever he is doing

Like when he tested the relative precision from Mouse Sensors, when changing to different DPI resolutions

Even Rtings has some a few incorrect data here and there

Optimum is 3D Scanning stuff for modding it later with custom 3D printed parts

and he actually bought a new 3D Printer for his last vid xD

Not saying that its better than the Wallhack, but it is true that Glass Mousepads have a kinda dumb high pricing
