Question about Genji's rmb + melee combo

So recently I’ve been trying ( and failing but what can I do) to play Genji, and about his rmb + melee combo where you melee right after the alt fire- this does still work right? Because when I try it’s really inconsistent, and the rmb only registers like 1/4 of the time. Any other time only the melee registers even though I click rmb before using it, and I have no idea why because I mean surely there’s no such thing as clicking too fast right
Any help or opinions would be appreciated lots

Yeah ,it still works ,you just need to practice your button timing ,because I’m pretty sure pressing both buttons at the same time (if that’s what you’re doing) is gonna mess it up

It still works. Genji requires a lot of skill to be good with (unlike the new heroes) so just practice it. You’re probably clicking the melee to soon and the rmb doesn’t fire.

Start by delaying the Como by a 1/2 second first then when you get more comfortable then starts decreasing the time in between RMB and melee. I still mess it up sometimes too on console.

It’s a very specific timing between hitting alt fire to your melee button/key. Just keep at it and you’ll get it.
Also, I’d advise using this combo only when necessary as it’s generally more effective to just use alt fire at close range since the melee strike has a longer animation than any of Genji’s other attacks and cannot be cancelled/followed up without a short delay.

I don’t press the rmb and melee at the same time, but I am probably clicking too fast I guess
Alright, I’ll keep practicing! Thanks for the advice all

There is a very short animation (0.1s? not sure exactly) for throwing the shurikens, and you do have to wait for that, or the melee cancels it.

Remember when Blizz wanted to remove animations cancels. Would be weird if they left one character specifically centered around it and escapes
