Question about forbidden 3rd party softwares

Can i use rivatuner? The app that omes bundled with msi afterburner.
What is rivatuner? Its an overlay app that shows you desired compnent’s conditions in-game (fps, gpu and cpu temps, etc,)

Riva tuner is fine as it is a GPU tweaking utility.
Software that is not allowed is ones that give you an unfair at advantage by tapping into the game.

Things like radars(like widows infrasight) or aimbots(like soldier 76 has)

Hi and thanks for answering,

2.6 use any unauthorized third-party software that intercepts, “mines”, or otherwise collects information from or through any Game or the Service, including without limitation any software that reads areas of RAM used by any Game or the Service to store information about a character or a Game environment; provided, however, that Blizzard may, at its sole and absolute discretion, allow the use of certain third party user interfaces;

i also read a rule on overwatch somewhere states the below,
Cheating,
1-…
2-…(i dont remember)
3-any 3rd party program that obtains normally unobtainable information.(rivatuner? It shows “unobtainable information”…like ram usage gpu usage cpu usage.
4-…
(those offenses will result in an immediate ban)

Any GPU monitoring tool can show GPU information.

Unobtainable information means things like radars(some people call these “Wallhacks”) so you can see where players are at all times.

Here is a pic of some software I use to get GPU stats.

Just remove the ( ) between the period
I am not “Trusted” yet so I cant post the picture

This trust system IMO is stupid when it comes to tech problems as pictures are easy to convey problems and advice and most people that come here for help are not “Trusted”

LuckyTiger,

RTSS (Riva Tuner Statistics Server) is not restricted but you should be aware it has been known to conflict with our games, often leading to crashing so we pretty much will ask for it to be removed if we need to troubleshoot an issue you’re having.

Thanks guys, but I have two more apps to question, rather than opening a new topic, I’ll post here .
Bear with me, thanks.

Then what about an asus audio app (sonic studio)it comes with asus motherboards along with other officials apps) it makes in game Micrphone sounds more clear and mainly it gives you the surround 7.1 for better directional sounds

Also another app NotebookFanControl,
It’s a unofficial program that allows you to adjust fan curve however you like. All users can edit configs or make their own.

I know the Asus sonic studio is fine and on my Asus laptop, does not interfere with Overwatch at all.

Luckytiger,

Grayfox is correct in that the software we’re referring to isn’t information on your personal PC’s usage. It’s software used to glean information you shouldn’t otherwise have in the game world, or which allows you to manipulate the game world in ways that are not intended.

Examples of this would be aimhacks, play bots, radar mods as Grayfox mentioned, programs which attempt to crack, datamine, or modify the source code of the game, etc. The types of programs you’re mentioning are fine because the information you’re getting is just amplifying or monitoring the performance of your own hardware, not your performance in game.
