QP needs a Rematch Button

Sometimes ill have a really close game and wish i could fight that team one more time. I wish there was a Rematch button at the end of a match that let players vote to instantly play again

There kind of is one already, just not a button exactly (or more precisely, exactly not a button). If enough players stay in the lobby, the game launches the same map anew with teams switched on offense/defense (doesn’t apply to Control maps [bummer]).

The issue with this is that you spend too much time on a screen where you don’t really know if they’re still there and usually it just brings you back to menu.

The idea for a quick rematch button where people see it (just like the group up thingie), would be great. If majority stays, try to just leave them on a skirmish while they fill the rest.

Yeah, I didn’t say that this feature is a great success. Used to be nice during the happy happy early days, but, alas, no more. Grumpy people would rather leave right away and requeue.

Probably will only take them like 3-4 more years to realize that such a feature could benefit the game.

This feature of QP got removed with role queue. Everyone always goes back to the queue after every game now, no matter how many people stick around.

Maybe it still applies in the arcade modes, but base QP doesn’t do it anymore. :frowning:

This was removed when they added role que

I would like something like this. Good even fair fought matches are so rare as it is. I’ll take anything to make them more common.

Oh, I stand corrected. That does make sense, come think of it, and also makes the feature proposed here highly unlikely: wouldn’t want that DPS scum skipping their queue waits.

What I really wish for is an unranked version of competitive. Basically QP matchmaking, but competitive ruleset. Too often you’ll have a decent game, force the enemy to go into OT 2 or 3 times, but still “lose” because they finally pushed the cart to the finish. It would be nice to switch sides and actually settle those games.

No, it doesn’t. What the game actually needs is an unranked mode. The kind that plays by comp rules, but with no ranks (and maybe giving some golden gun points). You know, you play on defence, then you swap to attack and it goes to round three. Then you’d have actual “practice for comp” unlike QP that’s just you got rolled to be on attack and that’s it. Why is this still not a thing is beyond me. Heroes of the Storm had that mode for like 5 years or somethig, but Overwatch still can’t. Is it because then people would play only that and not comp?

Exactly. It was back in the days of hero stacking, the would basically just refresh and play again. Not anymore, though. It just kicks you out to the main menu after every map.

yes this would be great, as you might then be able to actually finish the round. I really hate never getting to do attack and defense on maps, and it was pretty nice back in the day when you’d have a few rounds with the same teams sometimes, felt like actual competition at times, especially when playing with a stack.

I love this idea. Each team would most likely have several leavers after the round finishes though, so technically the ‘rematch’ option already exists by staying as a team, but that never happens

A little update on the subject. This functionality is still present in the Arcade (no RQ here, as we all know). I just had two games on MH where everyone (or near to it) remained in the lobby and the map just switched team sides with an instant queue. It was very cool to have experienced this after all this time.
