QP is kinda ridiculous RN

I’m getting into lobbies that are a mix of pros and new players. It usually results in you or the enemy getting rolled. Does anyone know why this happens? It feels quite unfair.

So we have incredibly fast queue times. A part of match quality is sacrificed so we arent waiting too long in that match finding phase. Thats why qp mm is absolutely atrocious sometimes. Oftentimes…

Too lazy to type “right now”? people are weird

Fast games > good games (according to the devs), or something.

They are making misguided decisions based on retention data instead of imo common sense. But they have the data, I do not. All I can say is I don’t endorse this game via word of mouth like I happily used to in OW1.

we’re in the last few weeks of the season near enough, so things are winding down. Less people will be playing, so the MM is going to get wider to keep queue times short

For quick play, this is the correct path to take.

If you want tighter matching, play ranked.

Nah. Give me a slider so I can wait 40mins for the best game of my life, if I want that.

Ranked makes my soul cry (I loathed it enough in OW1 playing every single season to drop it completely in OW2). Stadium is ranked and it feels looser than QP.

‘‘some’’ of match quality? , lol it destroys this game is what it does, more than 5v5, more than any other change so far.

Wouldn’t function. You’d just wait for matches artificially and end up with the same lobbies.

Just play to win and have fun like quick play.

No need to care what rank you are.

Nuh uh/show me the proof.

No, I must scream at people. How dare you take that from me.

That’s the thing about telling someone ‘not to care about something’. It rarely works. “Don’t get upset, but…” “You need to calm down” “Actually you do kinda look fairly fat in that dress…”

This is still going on? Last time I tried the game (last year) it was still happening. There was an uproar everywhere about complete noobies being in games with veteran high MMR’d players which was odd. Like literally new players with 10-100 hours in the game in lobbies with +2k hour players. Not smurfs or anything.

There is probably some part of the new matchmaking algorithm that completely breaks when they tweak things a certain way. Probably something dog like them allowing gold players to play with GM’s which essentially deletes the matchmaking since new players start around 2250SR range at around gold

I’d love to know how you’d want that to be proven.

It’d be a utopia if the people that actually cared would flock there instead of getting tilted over the people that say ‘it’s QP’ (Regardless of the context way). The culture is annoying, it’s like you’re not even allowed to warm up anymore. Heaven forbid I learn a hitscan hero for the first time.

It was an impossible/silly ask, I did start that sentence out with ‘nuh uh’, after all.

I just wanna try it/have the option of a slider, I’ve been asking for years.

“Go play ranked” is only a solution to “I want to play ranked”.

I shouldn’t have to be happy that some people view QP as a throwfest and that’s just fine cause it’s not ranked. Go throw/learn in Customs/AI/Arcade, imo.

Part of the issue is if you’d just tell me you’re learning in spawn, I can maybe even help you. But I can’t learn Ashe at the same time you’re hour 1 on Widow, we will lose. The issue is nobody says anything, expectations are uneven, feelings get hurt, and there are fights.

Simple communication would go leaps and bounds. I’m not gonna play Lucio for your Hog if I know it’s your first game and you have no idea where to even stand, I’ll play a support that can actually cover up your mistakes more.

It’s not at all about hating that you’re learning, it’s about communication, and never switching even if you’re very obviously learning nothing but what the respawn timer is set to, we’re losing our brains out, and you still won’t swap to help 7 fights in.

The true utopia is people playing both like they are the same mode, and not crying about getting beaten or what others are playing in either.

That would be lovely.

I get it. But it just wouldn’t function.

Firstly, it goes against what quick play is meant to be.

Secondly, if every picks the wait options. Then you are back to square 1.

There’s two kinds of fun, the thrill of competing and overcoming an obstacle with skill, the more intense high and then there’s the more stable just enjoying the journey. It’s just unfortunate there isn’t a proper word to differentiate those. It’s mutually beneficial if they don’t mix. It’s like people who sing at a concert, it ruins their experience not doing it, but it ruins the experience of those around you that went there to hear the band. Only in this case, you can have both.

It’s October 3rd.

Then call it Sickplay or SlidePlay, like Trombone Champ!

No, here, it would actually take into account what the teams are and compute for the best possible teams/games. That’s kind of the point of the whole thing. QP is just mash 10-12 accounts together, give them an unpopular map 1/4 the time, and hope for the best.

Also, if your wait was too long you could adjust your slider.

That all said, what we really should have instead of just QP and Comp is a Scrim mode where you actually try but no rank is on the line.

I see so much abbreviation going on. In another 30-50 years prob 40% of people in developed countries with proper resources for education won’t be able to read.

Some may say “it’s not that deep” but we’re already seeing the result of how automated systems and the way we use technology has really dumbed society down.

I’ve been saying this for a long time now, but I’ll say it again.

The devs should allow the players to determine how match making works.

Give us a slider that allows players to find their preferred ratio between speed and match quality.

Maybe some people want a match right now.

Maybe some people are willing to wait for quality.

Let us take control of our own game experience.

I refuse to believe that the playerbase is healthy - absolute lies on player numbers - they are throwing everything together to maintain the lie because of stadium.
