Seriously, how has this not been addressed? Its hard to even have motivation to play my games due to people in QP just leaving constantly. I can’t even have fun when its a 4v5 almost every other team fight in a QP game, because people can’t take a loss.
And before you say “just play ranked,” ain’t no way I’m playing that garbo with the ranking system they have now. I already did my challenges for my comp points this season, and plan on keeping it that way. Its not much better anyway.
It’s unplayable with the horrible matchmaking putting 5 stacks of veteran players coming from comp against solo q casual players.

Classic, people making an issue worse.
If they start giving actual real penalties to leavers, the issue will be almost gone. Its too easy to “ragequit” and just make the game worse for the other 9 players involved.
Blizzard isnt going to fix it so may I suggest leaving everytime someone leaves.

I try to not leave matches but sometimes it’s not worth the headache. It’s easy to tell when a match is already lost when your dps are 2K/12D with a max of 1,006 damage
Compared to the enemy Dps with 16K/3D
I’m one of those leavers. It’s unplayable in general whether there are leavers or not. Don’t blame leavers. I’m silver tank and regularly play against masters and GM players, with multiple of them on both teams. It’s unplayable to me as I can’t follow what is going on. No way I’m staying for that.
Then there are 1-shots ruining games and making them totally unfun. People stick to QP because they can leave when it’s just not fun to play against some heroes and blizz refuses to deal with them. Blame blizz because they know which heroes consistently cause leavers and do nothing.
if the matchmaking is bad I am leaving. That simple. I dont care AT ALL about a battle pass XP loss. I am leaving EVERY SINGLE MATCH where someone is soft throwing.
matches for the last 72 hours have been no-control face-rolls non-stop.
The skill gap is so great right now. That the game isn’t even something that anyone can play without getting rick-rolled.
They have zero excuse of “no players online” it is a holiday weekened and they did not bother to look into this issue.
1 ) Sorry, but “Push” is nauseating to play. It is a long-drawn out inevitable and the results are already determined. So the next 15-20 minutes we have to drag on and on until the slow robot concludes the match.
2 ) single CP should NOT go to the second round if the losing team did not make it past 70% completion.
I have become a serial leaver too past 2 weeks
The matchmaking has been so bad (in duo) the past weeks. It has never been this bad since I started playing OW1 back in the day. Teams are so badly mismatched skill wise but also in my own team there are such skill gaps between players that matches are super unfun to play with zero strategy.
Every Overwatch QP match currently feels like Call Of Duty Shipment where everyone just runs around trying to score kills, or kamikaze kills. Healers that don’t heal, tanks that go 1v4 and don’t shield and the objective doesn’t get pushed most of the time.
Luckily competitive is in a much better state for me and feels balanced and fun.

Thats a valid opinion… but then you dont play it. You play something else. Plenty of games on the market.
I agree the rahe quitters at this point are at an all time high and a penalty does need to be added.
if you add any REAL penalty, they really will leave the game forever.
A penalty won’t help, if they don’t fix the actual problem: matchmaking.
People will just stay and troll and emote if they are forced to stay. So penalties won’t really solve anything just like changing the challenges they did, didn’t change anything this season.
Dunno about you, for me QP is still good…

That’s a dying game for you: The playerbase has shrunk so dramatically that the matchmaker has to make horribly balanced matches, because there would be no matches if people had to wait forever for a match to actually happen.
Fewer and fewer people are willing to put up with Acti-Blizz’s utter contempt for its customers. Now they’re running a final maximum exploitation program for OW21.5 until their metrics indicate that it’s not worth to be kept alive anymore and gets dropped. (I would guess next year it’s over).
