i remember watching a stylosa video where the laid off pve employees revealed the plot of the pve lore story that would entail
they were gonna kill reinhardt. i kinda think that is cool but i do remember being upset when i was a kid because optimus prime died in the movie (transformer movie)
supposedly Hasbro (company that made transformers/gi joe) decided to NOT do that with the GI joe movie they made later. they were gonna kill Duke from the joes but changed the script and inserted later that he was only in a coma
how would you all feel if Reinhardt died in the lore story. would that make you feel bummed out or would you be like meh⦠who cares lol

I believe Reinhardht was just an example of if they killed off a playable character in lore theyād still be playable in pvp.
Reinhardht mightāve just been a good example because his battle crazed, melee and is old. A really bad combination in a war environment lol.
I didnāt really care when Optimus Prime died as it served the story. Thereās plenty of examples of it working and not working in fiction.
Duke probably shouldāve died there because otherwise itās trying to have itās dramatic cake and eat it without committing to it.

I donāt think he should be the best option to DIE because heās antiquated. In a world thatās rapidly embracing the future I think itād be neater if he was one of the last people to die as a way of saying āthe old ways will endureā.
I was upset as an adult. What were they thinking?!
I get where youāre coming from. But it could also mirror how his mentor passed and be a good sign of passing the torch to the future generations.
Depends how they wouldāve handled it.
To sell kids the new plastic toys. Thatās it.
Otherwise theyād keep hold of their Optimus Prime, Megatron and Starscream toys and have no need to buy the new Rodumus Prime, Galvatron etc. They culled a lot of Transformers in the movie to push the newer ones.

ahh yea that was kind of a smart business move but i think it backfired on them. later additions of transformers had optimus prime or they brought him back to life. i do remember optimus return cartoons after the movie
they were like⦠dam we are losing money!!!
hehe
Reinhardt was very clearly being set up to die, even in the missions we did get.
His story arc would have likely led to him dying to protect Bastion.

It wouldāve been a terrible decision.
Why kill the only attractive male character in the game? Kill Hanzo, heās moody all the time, a pain in the āAshā and ugly.
Reinhardt already bums me out because, while he hasnāt actually died in the lore, the way heās written in OW2 is very clearly setting him up for tragedy. Heās a beaten old warhound who is constant pain, missing body parts, on the verge of falling apart, and yet canāt put down his weapon. Thereās only one way this could possibly end.
Now weāre just permanently stuck watching our once-glorious loved one slip towards death, knowing their days are numbered and thereās nothing we can do about it. Is that less sad? I donāt think itās less sad.
No. I am⦠Thirty.
Going to die soon, probably.

I can definetly see it happening - the situation is bleak & Rein tells his team to go on without him, so he can give them time to escape & live.
There are flashbacks to when Balderich told him to retreat & how he Rein that he had to be the shield for his team. Somehow, Balderich is able to communicate (whether itās real or not isnāt actually said) to give Rein the last bit of strength he needs to push through & either defeat the enemy or give his team the time they need to retreat.
(also totally thinking of Eternity by Alex Warren playing while the flashbacks happen. also maybe flashforwards of what could happen, just to really twist the knife.)
He has to tell Brigg to be their shield, thatās the only way
