PvE could be a lifesaver for post-Valorant Overwatch

It is going to be amazing if Archives is anything to go by.

Unfortunately, I feel Valorant is going to kill off the PvP game. So many players are moving to it and IMO it looks much better than current state Overwatch. Fortunately, PvE has come at a really good time and could rejuvenate this game at a great rate. Of course, it depends on reviews, release date and marketing. But there is still hope for the lore and co-op game.

Sadly, I don’t see Overwatch League and Vs. mode lasting much longer before its a ghost town. IMO it’ll be like Warframe, Conclave will be a desert while everyone will be enjoying the PvE or Valorant…

I can’t believe I just said that. :sob:

Like I said in another topic, there’s a method to the madness. Overwatch’s PVP is doing so well and making great strides against the competition by leaps and bounds s-o-o-o lets start focusing on PVE.

“So many” players aren’t moving to Valorant. Streamers are being sponsored to pay it (either by direct payments from Riot, or incentivised by increased viewership, since people need to watch streams to even try the game - with a crazy-low drop rate).

Barely anyone is actually playing the game at this stage.

Let’s see what the numbers are like once it reaches open beta. Then we can see if people are actually leaving.

They aren’t being payed to play, if they are they have to announce it but some channels do give out drops.

They’re not being handed money. They are being handed a huge captive audience which they can use to run ads, gain subs/bits or even just expand their audience.

They’re being paid, just not directly.

That’s streaming in general , you see it every time with new releases and you will see the same thing when ff7 remake comes out officially.

Some channels do have drops but thats really no different when OWL, LoL, Csgo have drops on their streams

The difference is that people are correlating viewcount with the number of players which is obviously not the case and that high-profile streamers are making the most of the opportunity for high-viewcounts provided to them by Riot in exchange for publicity.

Watch the viewcounts drop once drops are off. Watch the number of high-profile streamers going back to CS:GO/Overwatch (at least part-time) after their initial agreement with Riot ends.
