Yo guys I’m playing overwatch soloq. So I go in the voicechat and I talk with my mates but I don’t want that they hear anything. So on which button you guys have push to talk or is there something like a toggle mute and unmute option? (PS4 btw)
It’s a setting you have to manually bind and it can be any button. When I was still doing comp, I mapped mine to left d-pad since it was already in use for hero information which doesn’t have much use when you understand each hero, or at the very least, the ones in your hero pool.
But isn’t this a little bit complicated in mid-fight
I prefer using open mic and toggle mute. This means that you don’t have to keep holding the push to talk button. Just click it once when you want to talk, and then click it again when you want to stop.
How can I set toggle mute?
It can be yeah, but if you’re like me you kind of need this otherwise you’ll be hearing me as well as my fan lol
Go to controls and scroll down to the voice chat options. Use whatever you would with push to talk and bind that to toggle mute. Then, turn on open voice.
Nice thanks I appreciate this
I’m on Switch and would really like this option - I use push to talk because I dunno if someone in the house will walk in on my gaming, but pressing the button whenever I need to say something is very annoying. For example, there’s like a ten second delay between me (Ana) seeing someone on the point in Hanamura whilst everyone else is in the back (I usually hold on the point to heal in the back), me communicating that to my team, and their responding to that callout.
However, I only see the binding option for Push to Talk in the Chat and Voice section of Controls. Am I doing something wrong or is it really not an option there?
It’s on PC…
press options and then social and get out of team chat
I equipped voice lines for that. I use it specifically when I’m playing Mercy for the “I need help” voiceline.
