Push is such a bad gamemode. Not sure why it’s still in the game at all but it should at least be removed from comp. Even winning on push just isn’t fun.
Push is just better payload imo.

Do you have any specifics as to why you don’t enjoy the mode? I enjoy push and it’s back and forth nature, plus the guarantee it won’t go into a second round.
SCENARIO: you’re losing 82- 87. You just took the robot back at your 87. The two seconds left on the clock tick down. overtime starts and you’re halfway across collesseo and your first team fight begins. You come out on top, push it again. Your dva got a 3 man bomb and they stagger until you’ve made it to the opponents 82. your team continues, 83….84….85…and the other team pops 5 alts and wipes your 2 healers and you get picked off 1 by 1 after and you lose 87-85 and you just wasted the last 3 minutes pushing the robot 3 ticks for no reason. happens 9/10 times you come back in OT. Compared to other game modes, when in OT, desperate contest is supposed to be possible, but with OP heroes, that has sorta lost its presence. In OW Classic that’s in right now, a desperation contest is worth miles more than in the current game.
It’s back and forth nature is why I don’t like it.
You do technically gain progress with the wall that gets pushed but it doesn’t feel like it. When you lose the bot and have to walk it back is anti rewarding. When you push the bot further and further.. it still feels anti rewarding to lose the bot.
In control, your % on the point doesn’t go down. You don’t have the feel of losing progress. Same with payload with how slow the cart rolls back, you don’t feel like all your hard efforts were wasted.
But in push that’s all I feel. Unless it’s a steamroll which isn’t fun anyway, all of my effort feels wasted with every fight loss. So tedious.
Plus push feels more deathmatchy than even control. Not my cup of tea.
I like push.
Genuinely, Colosseo might be my favourite map.
I actually don’t mind it because rather it’s a shorter match and someone has to win, rather than taking 15+ minutes only to tie like on Hybrid or payload maps.
Comp games I prefer push, then control, then flash, then payload/hybrid. In QP, I would choose a payload/hybrid every time.
Mostly this has to do with time invested each match. In comp I want shorter games. In qp I don’t mind a longer match and payoad type maps are more fun there.

Very well thought out - I can see how it might feel unrewarding.
Push gets more hate than it deserves. The constant action, strategic focus on map control, and real comeback potential make it one of the most exciting game modes in the game.
But thats just my humble opinion.
I dislike the mode because it feels like a lot of players don’t sync on timing and tempo, which is the most important part of Push. When fights aren’t taken or reset at the right moment, it snowballs quickly and becomes frustrating. It’s one of the modes that punishes lack of team coordination the most.
I think it’d be better with some sort of OT time addition when moving over certain milestones. Or maybe even two clocks based on who controls the bot?
I’ve had a lot of payload games where one team pulls a victory out of the jaws of defeat. Not so much in push.
I vote for push over payload every time. It’s shorter, and the maps make it harder for people to play low-effort poke heroes. They can play them, but it’s riskier and more reasonably counterable since DVa is always banned on payload maps.
Push is my most favored. I think because it’s the hardest to lose with a not great team. It’s really hard to get lost on a push map. It’s only one round so by the time you realize the other dps is 4-10, the match is nearly over and you can still win.
Hating on Push when we’re plagued with constant escort/hybrid and 50 million rounds with the same tank that won’t swap off Sigma. No.
Leave Push alone. It’s fine.
I think this is both Push’s greatest aspect (rewarding you for team play), and it’s worst.

Push is escort, but without 3 rounds.
Which is why in ranked specifically, Push is nice.
We can’t keep eliminating game modes or map styles because a small group of players don’t like it. It’s getting out of control. First it was Assault, then Clash, then Flashpoint. Now someone want’s Push out. When does it stop. Just leave the game alone and stop adding stuff and then removing it because people complain.
Here’s a very simple solution… if you don’t enjoy the game, STOP PLAYING IT. Go play something else. So tired of the constant whining.
Then they added Map voting and player bans. Again, takes away of the randomness of the game. Just leave it alone. We should be adding stuff, not removing.
