Punish the cheaters or let the competitive mode be paid

As the title says…

I’m tired of being matched against cheating players whether on my team or the enemy team in competitive play.

This is a critical issue since overwatch became free. The question is when will this be resolved? It doesn’t matter how many times we report cheaters (Does reporting really work?)

If you are not able to research and apply a solution for this, then the best thing to do is to put the competitive access behind a paywall, so only people who are really interested in serious competitive play will pay to have the access. (Something around 3000 coins per season maybe?)

I finished a match a few minutes ago and literally 2 enemies had extremely suspicious aim, every kill they dealt was just headshots.

I’m not saying that headshots are impossible… I’m saying people with very strange aim just killing with headshots the entire match is the problem.

You want the game to die?

I mean, I think at this point we all do, but come on.

So blizz should implement a way to vote to cancel the match if the team suspects there is cheating in the match, if someone is trolling or if someone gets disconnected from the match.

An example is CS:GO that when it was free, to have access to certain things you had to pay the premium access, that includes the competitive one.

How would you prevent people from abusing this to “cancel” their bad games? I.E. games they were legitimately losing but didn’t want to take the loss for.

there is a internal mechanism ive heard if cheating is detected it will say something like the server closed due to a unexpected error or something like that but alot of software is getting around the anticheat

This will be a vote system both teams will vote for match cancellation. If >= 0.6 upvote ratio then match will get cancelled.

so you’d have to convince your entire team AND someone on the other team to vote for cancellation if you think there’s a cheater on their team? Or 2 people if you get a disconnection?

I guess better than nothing but I can also see people constantly initiating votes just to annoy others or when they insist there’s a cheater but there’s just someone good on the other team.

I have to agree the mode should require money to play. I think seasonal play pass and it costs some money. With the caveat that if someone cheats or disrupts too many matches they come up with a fairly strict punishment.

  • leaver ban or Idle ban 3 strikes and it should be an OS ID ban for 30 days.

  • Cheater ban. OS ID ban permanent.

  • 15 Placement matches with no MMR.

  • 10 dollar buy-in for one season.

  • Seperate Endorsement with MMR.

They do, like their was a massive ban wave not long ago. And we get Oh I was banned falsely post a couple times a week.

anti-riggers = antidote

I don’t know if you still get the “thank you for reporting” screen, i think you do, which means the guy that was obviously aimbotting (as in, 0 doubt here, guy just jumps from head to head and his crosshair is stuck there on soldier) I reported is not banned.
I have a recording of that guy, again, absolutely 0 doubt that’s an obvious old-style aimbot. Not banned.

Don’t expect anything from Blizz, really, apart from more GIB MONNIEZ “features”.

Cheater bans happen in waves and not on an individual basis. The reason for this practice is so that cheaters don’t know when or which cheat got them banned.

Hell nah. If anything only accounts new to overwatch 2 should have this. Overwatch 1 players bought the game already and are entitled to keeping their progress. That, or accounts made after a change like that should only be affected.

What is dead may never die

Work in most of games, why it shouldn’t work in Overwatch too?

Surrender: vote will cancel match + give victory to enemy (eg. get stomped by enemy team, some players left from the game or even when its clear that is impossible to win that match like an troller etc).

Cancel Match: vote cancel match in early 1 minute. If match time is longer than 1 minute, then surrender vote will be used instead. No penalty will be received.

I’ll wait longer, then. It’s gonna be 3 weeks in two days. If they ban once a month that’s a bit crazy.

It’s also weird that there are countless vids of cheaters banned DURING their stream, like, in the middle of the one they are cheating. I’m not entirely sure what that’s about.

And in those “most games” it’s a moba (league  or pokemon unite ) where the surrender still rewards a loss for the team that surrendered.

And the cancel match one isn’t good either because in that first minute, a whole point can be captured and a team can be wiped, maybe even twice.

I doubt you’ve ever been on the side of an extremely dominating team fight when someone on the enemy team leaves and you feel like “ffs we totally could have won that game we were dominating so hard”

Valorant and R6 Siege are not MOBA game. And yes its right, if you open surrender vote obviously your team will receive a defeat. I prefer surrending when the team is not working instead waiting too long just to receive that defeat.

See matches that Tank just left from match (even disconnecting or just decided to stop playing) is almost impossible win that match, except if enemy tank leaves too.

Why instead waiting all match time reaches to zero to receive defeat? Instead open surrender vote and speed up the match ending.

I paid for OW1, which I was told would have all the PVP content being mine. And when OW2 came out, it was said OW1 players would be grandfathered in on that aspect, as well as not needing a phone number attached. I don’t want parts of the game paid for taken away because of cheaters. Just because I don’t have a lot of money doesn’t mean I’m not interested in serious competitive play.

OW1 players can have free access like Steam did in CS:GO. All premium players received premium ingame access that allow you play competitive games.

In my researches, OW2 track if your account was migrated/played before not just in Carrer Profile but in internal database. When you connect into the game its fetch your profile + platforms connected.

And contains some info about, Is migrated, Migration Status and Flags. I have an xbox account (playing in xCloud) and OW2 detected this because i already connected my xbox account to BNet services.
