The anniversary event is on week 2. Don’t be like me who skipped the 1st week, only to regret it when I saw the Ram skin on game.

The challenge for the skins literally says
‘complete X challenges during THIS WEEK’
The whole DURING THIS WEEK sort of implies its only earnable during their own weeks
Also it wouldnt make sense if you could just wait until the last week and earn them all considering most of the challenges needed to get them are to play that weeks highlighted anniversary mode in arcade. Battle of the beasts and the community crafted modes are no longer available so you cant even complete those anymore
This is true; however, I am relatively certain they had events in the past that rolled the challenges over similar to how we currently have a weekly system that does not care about which week it actually is. That along with no separate weekly timer despite the apparent time limited nature of the challenge and I genuinely believed we could earn them over the course of the next week by completing those specific weekly challenges…

How were you planning on even completing the week 1 challenges after week 1? The modes you need to play arent even in the game anymore. Theyve been replaced with the week 2 arcade modes
Well, as proven above, I come to my conclusions using grounded fact and logic. I actually am realistic and I suppose lean more towards pessimism over optimism until proven otherwise

Yeah. I swear long events like this always gave late joiners a chance to get the unlocks.
The thing that stuck out to me were the challenge amounts. All of them are like ‘win 30 games, 50 games’ instead of the usual stacking amounts like 30, 50, 70, 90 etc.

That’s fair enough. Maybe I just expected them to do more along the lines of how they did in ow1 which made it pretty blatant and unmissable that it was week by week, or how they did it in the Christmas bp where it just added week by week how many wins you needed iirc. I didn’t really read the text too closely though admittedly
I think it makes perfect sense given enough of the challenges are just generic play x games. It’s not like it’s impossible to just let people do the generics on week 3 to complete 1/2. I’m not saying I’m upset or hold strong feelings about this or anything, just that it’s not unreasonable
In previous events, you could earn the first week reward in subsequent weeks. This one is worded differently.
Considering I’m at the end of the battle pass and most of friends have stopped playing for the season, I doubt I’ll get any of the skins.

Okay, so hypothetically, in my imagination, there would be two separate play 30 games challenges and playing a match would count toward progress on both. The unique modes would obviously be locked at that point. Therefore, if you wanted all three skins, in the last week, you could potentially play the 50 games without touching the gimmick modes and unlock all three skins.
I am using logic and facts too. We just disagree on the conclusion. It could have gone either way, really. There was no indication that made your perspective any more likely beyond the fact that Blizzard is incompetent. That would be why it would have been more wise to assume they would go the anti-player route.

Nah it will be a fun week because you can just spam Cosmic Crisis which (imo) is the best limited time mode they ever made

The 20 matches can be completed if I win the cosmic crisis once a day and add 1-2 unranked match each day. It’s an easy grind.
You can cheese it by doing the eldritch mission multiple times… it’s so, so dull but easy and a guaranteed +2 to the counter. It’s maybe 8-10 minutes per run on normal idk. and by playing unaffected heroes like Juno in the april fools mode

I did 3/4 week 1 challenges for the Ram skin. I intended to complete the last few matches I needed on Monday, but could not due to the psn outage. First skin/event I missed out on since OW1 Beta(I have every non-shop exclusive skin in the game.) OW1 events always explicitly stated “you have this amount of time and then its gone”. Previous commenter says the wording is “during this week” which, to me, implies a deadline. On PS5 the actual wording is “from this week” which I took to mean it might be attainable throughout the event. Its not a huge deal to me, but it is annoying.
