TL;DR - I had mouse acceleration turned off. It turned itself back on. If you think you turned it off, make sure.
The wisdom of “turn off mouse acceleration” is well known. Some may say “well duh, I have it off”. Are you sure?
At some point when I switched from Razor to Logitech it turned itself back on. The Razor software (I believe) turns it off by default, but the Logitech software does not have the option… You have to turn it off in the Window settings. Which at one point I did.
I watched this video which discuses a mouse acceleration driver for gaming that has a linear curve vs Window’s very weird curvy one:
And while looking the comments, I saw some people mention they thought they had it turned off, but low and behold it was turned on. So I decided to double check… oh man…
So yeah, make sure folks. You’d think you’d instantly notice it being turned back on. But with a low sense, I really didn’t.
Under Windows it’s called “Enhance Pointer Precision” under “Pointer Options”.
