PSA: Logitech Users, input lag with latest update

So I use Logitech g502 mouse and keyboard, have been for years, great hardware, never had any issues, until around new years, when i began feeling there was an input delay (or no recognition at all), specifically with the mouses’ thumb/side button, and as well as the keyboards spacebar.

This persisted to the point of extreme frustration and suspicion that either or both became defective.

Then after some recent research (before just throwing money to buy new ones) I came to learn, the latest update of Logitech ghub causes a conflict of inputs (something with regards to RGB, im no computer wiz, just relaying what I’ve read off reddit).

Long story short, the latest update has caused serious input lag (and other oddities) and after reading to roll back to the previous version, this fixed the issue and has been a night and day difference in experience.

I cant understand why Logitech nor Blizzard would not at least have the decency to notify potential users but instead let us cook in our own frustration due to their error in their latest update and moreso lack of fn communication!

I do know why, because its bad publicity for both parties and for those who dont know better, probably ended up going and purchasing new Logitech products.

This is one of the factors and realities of online competitive gaming that i believe huge companies just truly need to be far more transparent and quick to fix.

I love logitech products, and still do, but having experienced this “being left in the dark” due to their error of their latest patch, has caused me to lose a lot of respect and makes me question purchasing from in the future. But if esports and online competitive gaming as a whole wants to be respected on the same level as “real life” sports, then they need to be %1,000 transparent on the tools being provided. Its like trying to play competitive baseball with a splintered bat while others use state of the art aluminum bats.

Keep the playing field as fair as possible, especially when the tools that you compete over really shouldnt have any dramatic affect on the outcome of your gameplay.

Odd. I have the G502 and updated, and don’t notice any lag from the mouse.

Can’t say for the keyboard, I use a K95.

How is this a blizz issue, I don’t think they can tell what kind of mouse your using.

This is why I stick to my Hyperion fury g402 brick with 3 mouse skates.

They can’t break it :joy:

You might be seeing pixel skipping. Google for “overwatch pixel skipping calculator” and make sure you have the right in-game sensitivity as well as mouse dpi. It’s the first result, the pyrolistical github.

Don’t worry after season 9 u won’t be skipping any pixels and missing shots with that giant hitbox.

The new hitboxes don’t really work that consistently I’m afraid. It’s the easy fix for lowering the learning curve for new Overwatch players, but it often doesn’t work or is outright ridiculous and you get good shots as misses and misses as “hits”. Man, I’ve seen some BS headshots that were clear misses and it’s a shame, this game was never entirely about aim mechanics but then to butcher it like this was the worst thing the devs have done to the game.

The game before wasn’t just about aim mechanics but the aim mechanics themselves were very solid, now it’s a mess like you said

Ty for this info! I definitely will look into this

I’m pretty stupid about hardware and stuff like that. Is this: https://www.logitech.com/en-us/eol/mx-master-2s-mouse.910-005137.html mouse affected? It’s made for work and outdated so I doubt it. Still unsure though.
