If you are planning on getting the new Brigitte skin through the Support a Streamer campaign, do not gift subs from the Twitch app on iOS/Android. If you must use your phone, go to Twitch from a web browser and gift from there.
The Twitch app on iOS/Android charges an extra dollar per gift sub ($5.99) so Apple/Google get a cut for making a transaction through them. Using a web browser does not have a surcharge, and the price of each gift sub is $4.99. If this is your first time gifting subs, there is also a 20% discount for your first gift, so bundle your 3 gift subs together for the lowest price of $11.97.
Regardless of how you feel about this promotion, I think we can all agree these app store surcharges are outrageous.
Other reminders tied to this campaign: The promotion doesn’t start until 11:00am PT. Ensure your Battle.net and Twitch accounts are linked before gifting, don’t gift anonymously, and once you send out the 3 gift subs, check your Twitch notifications for a code to be redeemed through Battle.net (code expires Dec 22).

Yeah, it makes sense that they need to incorporate a charge somewhere. I just think a 20% surcharge is ridiculous.

The streamer I wish to support isn’t live at the moment, so I’m going to hold off until later, but I’m curious whether the code drops instantly or if it takes 24 hours like the article states that it might.
The code drops instantly. Once you finalized the gift sub purchase, the code immediately appear in your notification.
Spoiler: Medic Brigitte will say “Please state your emergency” instead of the usual “I will prove myself” when selecting her.
