PSA - Avoid forums later today

As with any new character releases now that everyone is going to get to play her today…word of advice…avoid the forums

Unless of course you want to deal with hundreds of people complaining about how she’s OP or broken or how she’s not in competitive or that they simply don’t like her or how she needs to be changed

You’ve been warned…

Once people start getting killed by her stun, the complaints will flood in. Hundreds of basically duplicate topics stating their distaste at the new OP hero and how they’re unfair or unbalanced in some way or another.

Then she’ll get nerfed and we’ll end up with hundreds of duplicate topics complaining about how the nerfs went too far and Blizzard hates supports and only want Tracer/Genji to be viable.

It’s like the cycle of Fire and Dark in Dark Souls, except with less death and more whining.

Not looking forward to the 400hp non decaying armour Dragon blades.

A good PSA would be; Never take forums seriously.

Yeah, but Nano blade doesn’t grant the player non-decaying armour.

  1. Its 150 armor, so only 350 HP. Nanoblade gives effective 400.

  2. Nanoblade allows slash+dash to be an immediate kill, Rally does not.

  3. Nanoblade effectively doubles healing received for its duration. Rally… heals for 30 HPS, assuming that Genji is even in range. And if you want to run in with the full initial 150 armor then you only have 5 seconds of healing to work with.

  4. Dragonblade does its damage in a very small window, by the time nanoboost wears off the ult would have done its damage or been countered. Having leftover armor for thr cleanup phase is really not that useful.

  5. Nanoboost has a much longer range than Rally and works instantly.

If you are worried about Rallyblade, Transcendence and Soundbarrier both work much much better with it than Rally.

Well, i mean… Nano boost only affects 1 player…
And she can combo it with a heal for +225 armour, so in actuallity that’s 425… but i rounded it down to 400. You can weave your ults while the armour is still in effect. And you typically want to stay close to your team as Brigitte anyway, so it’s not like she won’t be.

And if you really, REALLY want to get crazy, you can combo rally with Nano boost.

Still weaker than Sound Barrier or Trans. Both make Genji basically unkillable during his blade.

Rally is a relatively weak ultimate in the light of the other support ults.

1 time 150 overheal is nice, but considering you are fighting against 1 time 500 shields or 300HPS for 6s. Slam Rally into either of those and you fail most of the times.

And Ana has a grenade, which heals for effective 200 on a nanoboost target and is easy to hit.

Thus if we count abilities Nanoblade has 600 health.

Oh, no. I’m only taking the preemptive armour stacking into account.
But no, Lucio’s sound barrier decays really, really fast and Zen’s heal doesn’t protect Genji from the right amount of burst damage. Maybe i AM worrying over something i shouldn’t worry about, but the fact that the armour doesn’t decay is definitely food for thought.

The thing is though, yes Rally can be fired preemptively to give everyone 150 armor. But sound barrier isnt exactly hard to execute and gives everyone 500 shields immediately. It doesnt last very long, but fights dont last very long now anyway. Ultimately when a Genji is ulting, it takes way shorter than 5 seconds for results to come in.

And there arent many oneshots that are reliable to land on an ulting Genji. So Trans is way more reliable than Rally in protecting Genji.

The only support ultimate that is arguably worse to combo with blade than Rally is Valkyrie. And Valkyrie is a pretty bleh ult.
