[PSA] Aim still feels off? Check these settings:

This is literally just a repost of the post by StruthGaming on Reddit.
It’s kinda sad that we have to tell people how to fix the game’s defaults to be less awful, but here we go.
Maybe the devs might fix their defaults. Because getting up to 50ms of input lag is atrocious.

OW2 defaults to atrocious settings for aim, giving you as much as 50ms+ input lag unnecessarily. I made a quick to the point video covering some simple, yet extremely helpful settings you can change - Overwatch 2 | BEST SETTINGS for Aiming & Input Lag - YouTube

For a non-video TL/DW

  • Audio > Audio Mix > NightMode
  • Video > Fullscreen (not borderless)
  • Video > Highest resolution (choose the highest number in brackets, this should = your monitor hz, if not fix that by right clicking desktop > display settings > advanced display > choose highest number)
  • Video > Dynamic render scale: Off
  • Video > Render Scale Custom and 100% (can choose lower for larger enemy outlines but lower visual fidelity)
  • Video > Frame Rate Custom and 600 (certain monitors you may want this number to be your refresh rate. Some like to set this to what your FPS dips to in big battles for most consistent performance)
  • Video > Vsync: Off
  • Video > Triple Buffering: Off
  • Video > Reduce Buffering: On
  • Video > Lowest graphics (except for texture quality, antialiasing and maybe shadows if you can afford the performance hit)
  • Gameplay > Enable high precision mouse input
  • Accessibility > Set camera shake to reduced and hud shake to off
  • Gameplay > Controller aim smoothing to 0 (don’t think this does anything, but someone will mention it if I don’t)
  • Controls > Change Hero > Widowmaker > Widowmaker scope sens = 37.89 for best 1:1 feeling with hipfire
  • Controls > Change Hero > Ashe > Ashe ADS sens = 51.47 for best 1:1 feeling with hipfire
  • Controls > Change Hero > Kiriko > Swap Kiriko primary and secondary fire keybinds around (may want to do this for Sojourn & Winston too if you like it better).

Maybe do this, or not, could cause stutter:

  • Video > Nvidia Reflex: Enabled + Boost

One shouldn’t enable nvidia reflex if framerate drops below display refresh rate, you only will gain stutter and more severe fps drops with that

That’s fair, moved it to the end.

I just adapted to the new default, or whatever. I got good, again.

Even if you did, you’d be better without the equivalent of an extra 50ms seconds of ping lag.

Supposedly reduce buffering does nothing if you have reflex enabled.

Im bad so i was used to it fast, nothing changed after all i still just suck!

What does the audio settings have to do with it? I think I used to have night mode on but it was really loud so I changed to headphones

Nothing in particular, but the defaults have really bad positional audio.
And if people are making a ton of Settings changes, they might as well fix their audio mix.
