PSA: Account actions accumulate forever

When I received a punishment, I was cited as it being the “third time” I behaved in a certain way and was actioned.

Wanna know when the last time was? 2017. Apparently 5 years of good behaviour with no bans doesn’t actually reduce the weight of any prior offenses. Get mad again and you’re donezo. Some people literally can go from being an actual child to an adult in this kind of timespan.

Be careful and never assume you’re not near a permaban if you’ve ever been actioned at any time in the past.

(Basically I think it’s done on purpose to increase bans and therefore try and increase game sales, but, would any of us be surprised at that from this company?)

99% of people don’t get reported when they get mad.

I think it’s you.

Hard to tell though, do you get told when you’ve been reported? I must’ve been reported by at least some salty player or other in my over 3000 hours of game play, but as far as I know I’ve never seen a message telling me as much and I’ve yet to have my account actioned (knock on wood).

Not the point of the post. Kind of dumb for punishments to never reset and go against you ad infinitum. There should generally be some sort of decay rate depending on the frequency of reports and severity of the offense. And 5 years should be sufficient for most anything to reduce in some way…

CS told me a very long time ago that account actions don’t accumulate forever and do in fact decay. However, it takes a very, very long time.

That is not true unfortunately. I have numerous accounts and def. can tell you they don’t just evaporate. I recall since my main account got dinged for something i said to a group of players in 2016. Once i was suspended i inquired, they couldn’t quite tell me exactly in details (What’s new…) but relayed enough information that i could put two and two together. Not to mention i was live streaming. I provided the footage and explained my situation. They essentially stated “It’s not what you did just now but an accumulation of x”
They purposely remain vague on all that stuff. It wouldn’t have been beneficial for them to just come clean and explain what transpired and how the player can adjust their attitudes or whatever so that it doesn’t transpire again. No. It’s far easier to go “You know what you did! Don’t do it again!”

And have the frustrated player purchase a seperate account so that they can continue to play.

Well that’s what support told me and they had no reason to lie.

That doesn’t disprove anything. All it shows is that it takes longer. They did say that it takes a very, very long time. Who knows it may even reset if you receive more actions.

I think it’s pretty safe to say that most people have never been actioned at all, even when they have been mad.

Maybe there’s a lesson you still haven’t learned, even as an adult?

EDIT:

There seem to be a lot of people in this thread who don’t believe this. Like this post if, like me, your ingame account has never been actioned.

Basically yeah. They don’t actually want you to improve. They want you to be banned to buy another account. That’s why none of this is clearly laid out and why any responses from GMs are ALWAYS cryptic and withold as much info as possible.

Let’s be real. If 5 years isn’t long enough, it’s effectively infinite. This is games not a house investment

Your good behaviour can never nullify your toxicity(to someone else) in the past. Also, you are not disadvantaged by it unless your toxic again. It seems reasonable.

When it is deleted, say per 1-2 years, people could regard such things as that you can be toxic once per X.

No, they just imitate US justice system. With their “three strikes” law.

Been there, done that. Formerly moderated for a separate game community that is insanely large today.
But whatever one of their guys will obliterate this comment because they don’t like it when i put that out there. In fact I’m pretty sure some former teammates are now with blizzard or “game masters” now too.

If you receive a punishment, then you are still a child.

Stop being toxic please

Discussing account bans on the forums is against the rules, time for some punishment!

No use talking about it on these forums, I had a thread the other day with over 50 replies where all but 2 people agreed that the word “stupid” is “abusive” chat. These people are in such a big echo chamber it’s not worth even talking to them

wasn’t the problem more that you called them f***ing stupid?
