Welp, I thought you all had figured it out. First half of this season was normal, just like any other shooter I play. I would get a lag/network interpolation delay event once or twice every several matches.
It is now worse than it has ever been. Opponents and teammates are not where my client tells me they are at. The moment I attempt to interact my client corrects itself and everyone teleports. My client is, like, a full second behind the server.
Frame drops, network interpolation delay, lag, rubber banding, teleporting, ghost damage, PS5.

It’s been two weeks for me. Other games, no lag issues. Every match, as soon as my team engages into a fight, everyone floats by and then I’m dead.
Of course I’ve double checked my internet, no issues, satisfactory upload/download speeds.
It’s growing ever harder to believe the overwatch team knows what they’re doing.

Yup, same here. I’m getting an xbox just to play overwatch. some people don’t have those issues. I’ve heard of it being a regional issue but idk. I can’t even play a custom game without the game stuttering when heroes spawn in, even with good ping and everything and hardwired. ult fights are messy, stuttery and sometimes the audio cuts off. barely playable. After restarting console, clearing data base, etc. I can play maybe 1 or 2 games with almost no issues but then they come back. tested it on 3 different PS5’s other ISP, other monitor, other location on someone else’s PS5, it’s all the same.

Yup, rubber-banding at least a few times a session - it’s being going on for a while now, but I’ve noticed a lot more after the last patch (not saying it was the patch, but it sucks even more now).
Update: still happening. Even after updating settings and changing to a hard Ethernet connection.
This used to be my favorite game.

Yeah man it’s abyssmal. If you wanna check Zexulia’s (Top 500 console Ana player) Youtube, he describes the issues in one of his latest videos, but it’s already like 5 months old)

Here’s a list of all the major issues that I’ve encountered:

major framedrops at hero select and end of game screen.

framedrops in deathmatch lobbies, right after getting killed, people join/leave the lobby or the hosted lobby changes.

framedrops/stutters in custom game modes like VAXTA or 1v1 Arena, when people/bots spawn in.

stutter during teamfights, especially on certain maps: Suravasa, Antarctic Peninsula, Runasapi, Esperanza.
-
stutter when there’s a lot of bright effects and effect-heavy abilities/ults : Sym ult, Lifeweaver ult, Juno ult, Zarya beam, Mauga’s kit, Kiriko ult, etc.

those stutters go hand in hand with audio stuttering and a feeling of sounds getting absorbed.

abilities and their sound effects like sleep dart or hook trigger twice after being interrupted. ping differences between players make that very frustrating.

hero “auto”-voicelines or the map intro repeat themselves.

no hit-registrations although clearly hitting the hitbox, even seeing the hitmarker and it’s sound effect, but not dealing any damage. (like on Zexulia’s video)

bugs in the settings menu while in a match. sliders jump to another setting when you hold l/r d-pad. buttons straight up stop working until you get out of the menu.

climb abilities on heroes like genji, kiriko or hanzo sometimes just don’t work.

sometimes, lucio and genji projectiles stay in the air and their sound effects are permanent.

sometimes, soldier:76 is shooting you but you can’t see any bullets and no sound effects, you just take damage.

sometimes, there’s no enemy healthbars in deathmatch lobbies.
-
sometimes, reinhardt firestrike has no animation, except the actual projectile coming at you.

ramattra stuck in nemesis form although he’s in his normal form. (first encountered when he got released, still happens to this day)
-
T-posed heroes in the victory/defeat screens.
-
extremely low resolution in POTG and victory/defeat screens.
There might be more but that’s what I’ve seen and all those issues still happen or have happened within the last week.
