In season 1 I used the balanced graphics mode on PS5, which was fine I think around 1440p. Since the season 2 patch balanced mode is a significantly lower resolution, looks like sub 1080p, more like 720p. I’ve had to switch to resolution mode which while fine in game it runs at 60fps. In the menus it’s capped to 30fps which is annoying.
Blizz please fix the graphics modes. Balanced should be how it was before. Or even better don’t cap the frame rate to 30 in the menus for quality mode. The game runs fine, I can’t imagine the menus are more taxing?

the menus on PC are also capped, at 60, even if you can run the game at 500 fps. Not sure why, maybe just to save your PC (or console) from consuming resources for no reason?

Same here, graphics are pixelated in framerate or balanced mode. resolution mode is a bit better but the input lag is way higher and fps are low af.

I play in resolution mode on a 60’ 4k tv and now it’s so pixelated, it looks like 720p

Yeah, exact same issue here. Nothing about this was mentioned on the patch notes. So i think it´s a bug?

Yeah, the image looks blurring. The game performance was perfect in season 1 even in 120hz mode, I don’t know why they decided to bring the resolution down.

Thank god I thought it was just me. Yeah game looked great before on balanced on PS5, Season 2 launched today and now it legit ooks like full on jaggies on everything and poor resolution like 540p, what happened? I hope they see this thread and patch it yikes.

Same here but Resolution mode wasn’t working either with the exception of the 30 FPS menu cap and even lower FPS in Hero Selection. How did they break this?

I mean resolution mode works how it’s suppose to? For me at least. 60fps, what I assume is 4k. The menus have always been terrible 20-30fps in resolution mode, even in the Beta. I reported it back then but of course nothing was done, but now the other 2 modes are completely busted resolution is the only option. Laggy menus are better than playing at 360p lol.

I have the same issue. Im playing on PS5, had the game in Balanced graphics settings (framerate was too blurry for my liking) before today’s update.
Game ran most of the time pretty smoothly, just in few occassions framerate dropped to 30, 25 while the game ended (Victory/Defeat screens), and sometimes game crashed if too much stuff was going on (ex: D.va’s mech explodes, while 2 ults are going on at the same time, too much particle effects etc.), that one in particular was super frustrating because I… well it was Ranked.
Anyways, today’s patch seems to have messed up the resolution of the game… looks super blurry and messy (framerate mode looks horrendous), tried to changed the gfx settings to “Resolution” and I think it plays fine but in the main menu the fps drops to 30/25 fps. Im kinda worried of playing in Res mode because well… the random crashes if suddendly there’s too much stuff in screen or idk. Hope there’s a fix soon
PD: Blizz CS sent me here to post in detail what I was experiencing.

Same here. PS5, game looked great in season 1 even with Framerate mode. Now it looks horrible in anything outside of Resolution mode. Please fix asap.

Looks so bad that i dont want to play anymore. every enemy is just thick pixelated outline at longer distance…

Yep, having the same issue. After the patch every graphics mode looks blurry / pixelated. Please fix this issue because its making it hard to want to play the game.

This is a PS5 issue as far as I know. My wife is playing on PS4 next to me and her graphics look better than mine! We have the exact same model TVs as well. The “blurry” look on PS5 is messing with my eyes and giving me a headache.

I cant play right now because of this. I have a headache. Targets look blurry and pixelated. PS5, framerate mode. In season 1 the game looked and felt amazing in framerate mode. So disappointed. Dont wanna play anymore.
Blizzard fix it as soon as possible please, i cant play!

thank god im not the only one. i just played the new season just a few minutes ago and i was wondering why my balanced mode looks like potato mode. they gotta fix this asap it’s literally unplayable. i feel like im playing overwatch on mobile

Omg yes! I noticed it while playing tonight, everything looked too pixelated.
I play in resolution mode since I’m not that competitive, but even I that mode I felt like I was playing in 1080p.
I would say the game is unplayable now but it sure isn’t the best experience, I hope Blizzard fixes this ASAP.

Having the same problem on ps5. blizzard go back to the season 1 resolutions i had no problem doing balanced on my 4k tv it looked and ran great but since season 2 dropped it looks horrible
