PS4 bad connection

Hello, I play overwatch on PS4 on México. Lately I’ve been experiencing horrible latency problems and my ping goes from 50 to >200 ms for a few moments. Game is literally unplayable due to this. Any help will be appreciated, thanks.

First if you have not already, please take the time to look at these console-specific connection troubleshooting steps.

I used looking Glass and those are the results, I’ve censored my IP with “/”

Also, I forgot to add: i have my PS4 ip DMZ hosted, I use lan directly to router. My problem started maybe in December, before that I’ve played for +2 years with my actual ISP and speed connection with non a single latency problem.

It doesn’t look good… What can I do? Thanks.

From the above, you gain 50ms in ping as soon as Blizzard hands data over to your ISP. What’s your normal ping?

Looking Glass tests are a quick look at a conenction, so it’s hard to really narrow down the issue of going to 200ms ping randomly. If you have access to a PC, a WinMTR test run for 5-10mins is much better suited for this.

Hello, before this problem my ping used to be approx. 50-60 ms, i still have a similar ping in other online/multiplayer games. Now my ping in overwatch is 110-120 ms with peaks of >200 ms for a very few moments. Also i have almost always up the packet loss warning. I used the WinMTR with the ip 24.105.30.129 US west. These are the results (i waited 10 min and exported the results):

Thanks.

Have you restarted your networking equipment recently? Right now you’re showing mild packet loss of 1% at home and a worst ping of 218ms. This might explain the lag, but other hops are also reporting packet loss and high ping. So restart everything and see if it helps. If not, do you have a mobile connection you can try and see if you’re still affected?

Sadly I don’t have another way to test it since I only have my home connection. I already reset my modem and I’ve called multiple times to my ISP but they always say that everything looks normal when they monitor my connection. I don’t know what else to do.

Have you provided them with these results? You can also open a ticket with Blizzard, maybe they have other players also experiencing this and grounds to reach out to the ISP. But if it’s an isolated case, it’s going to be you and your ISP’s responsibility to work it out. I think if they send a tech out instead of doing a 5second test to see if your equipment is online, they will fully understand the issue.
