I have played this game since November 2016, and this problem has continued to… whenever it gets fixed.
On the menus in the “cursor” will auto-scroll through options, and it’s difficult to stop. It used to be fixed by moving the stick in the opposite direction, but now I find myself waggling the stick all over in hopes it’ll stop. It makes it difficult to get into matches and select characters and settings, in particular.
It’ll do it top-bottom left-right (or opposite) on all menus.
For reference:
I do not have another controller DS4 plugged in
I do not have another controller e.g.: steering wheel plugged in
I do not have KB/M and have never used it
I do not have anything else plugged in to the PS4
This does not happen with other games
It does not effect my in-game character or abilities
It does not effect the PS4 menus
No suggested fix (e.g. restarting console, un- and re-installing game) helps this.

After all this time I (and I’m sure many others) would love to actually get a fix for this: even if it means losing stick support in menus. I just want to be able to select what I mean to the first time, without having to wrestle for dominance against a cursor.
This happens to me every day doesn’t matter how many controllers I try, my friends reported the same thing.
Personally, it’s not a big deal for me because it only happens on horizontal scrolling options (game type selection, arcade, hero selection and hero list, etc), only happens from left to right, and stops when I move my joystick to the right when for a second (the direction of the auto scroll).
Didn’t realize this happens in other directions for others though, that’s annoying. And yes, this happens to me only in OW.
Mine used to be as easy to fix as yours but now it’s progressed to having to take 10 - 20 seconds of moving my stick to get it to stop. Sometimes when I manage to get it to stop, it’ll stop for a while before making a comeback e.g. post match or post [a couple of matches].
I am also having this problem, I just upgraded to a PS4 Pro and have a new controller. The exact same bug is happening since I upgraded, and it only effects the menus, gameplay is absolutely fine.
To try and fix this I first deleted the game from my PS4 and redownloaded it. After that didn’t work I wiped my PS4 back to factory settings and redownloaded the game… it’s still happening.
Could someone please look into this? It seriously diminishes my experience with the game, and from my search it looks like a lot of other people have had the same issue.
