Proposed Reinhardt Fix

Hi, here are my proposed changes for Reinhardt. In the current meta, Rein and tanks in general are too easily countered now that Brigette is around.

This is what I suggest.

  1. Shield changes
    Reduce shield size by 15% but increase shield HP by 500. Players can no longer pass through the shield. Shield HP regens 5% faster.

  2. Charge
    Increase charge speed by 10% and can now hold right click to charge with shield up, each enemy caught will reduce charge pin damage by 10%.

This will give Rein the ability to create space and break up some of the monotony of hard chokes with the back and forth poking…waiting for shield to charge, relying on picks etc.

  1. HP
    Change rein to be 250 HP and 250 armor.
    Give him a little boost to his tankness.

  2. Hammer speed
    Increase his basic attack speed by 5%

  3. Movement
    Increase his overall movement by 2-3%, he is very slow.

Thoughts? I’d love to see him come back into the meta and be more viable.

  1. Fix earthshatter bugs
  2. Give him reduced knockback and immunity to regular stuns (IE shield bash, flashbang, and rocket punch) while his shield is up
    That’s all he needs

Why don’t we fix his bugs before making his charge a low risk high reward ability

Shield size cannot be changed. Reinhardt is massive. He’s really hard to see around. I love protecting my team, but I also know that McCree and Hanzo can’t see around my giant, German body.

Make shield regain hp after 1 second instead of 2

ok these are my suggestions and I think if they were done, he would be a hell of a lot better. What bugs? Elaborate.

Charge has a dumb hitbox that can hit you when your behind him or like 5 feet from the either side of him
Earth shatter from what I’ve seen is if your against a wall where the floor meets shatter won’t stun you

Not allowing to go through the shield is dumb.

Presently the synergy with brig is way too good. Ask your teammate to pick brig and you will see wonders happen that’s is if the player is good and sticks with you.

I like the idea of increasing his armor amount. I always found it a little weird he’s in that huge suit of armor but his armor amount is small in comparison. I mean Dva has the same amount and she’s partially exposed
