Proof of Cheating

Proof of cheating…here are some examples and the tools used.

  1. Aimbot:
  • Lock-On Aim: The crosshair consistently and unnaturally snaps to enemy heads, especially across long distances. [Seen lastnight from someone playing Orisa…spear seem to never miss no matter if you were attacking in her blind spot.]
  • Perfect Tracking: The player tracks enemies through walls without visual cues or sound. [Widow maker’s ult without Widowmaker.]
  1. Wallhacks/ESP:
  • Awareness of Hidden Enemies: The player seems to be aware of enemy positions through walls, even if there are no visual or auditory cues.
  • Predicting Enemy Movements: Anticipating and reacting to enemy movements that should be impossible to predict.
  1. Triggerbot:
  • Automatic Shooting: Instantaneous firing as soon as the crosshair is on an enemy, often resulting in unnaturally high accuracy. [This is why I advocate for end of game states that can be seen by everyone, especially weapon accuracy and headshots]
  1. Speed Hacks:
  • Abnormally Fast Movement: The player moves significantly faster than the normal game speed, making them difficult to hit or catch.
  1. Fly Hacks:
  • Flying or Levitating: Movement that goes beyond normal character capabilities, such as hovering in the air or flying.
  1. Ultimate Ability Hacks:
  • Abusing Ultimate Abilities: Excessive and unrealistic use of ultimate abilities, such as having an ultimate ready every few seconds. [Ults as soon as game start. Seen a DVA character who double the ults of everyone else by the end of the game.]
  1. Map Exploits:
  • Phasing Through Objects: Moving through walls or other solid objects that should be impassable.
  • Getting Outside Playable Areas: Accessing areas of the map that are not intended for gameplay.

Console: Cronus Zen, XIM, Strikepack, Reasnow, Titan, and so on.
PC: Aimhelper, Gosu, Skycheats, Aimsharp, Securecheats, Engineowning, and so on

Remember that these are general indicators, and some skilled players may appear to exhibit these behaviors legitimately. It’s crucial to avoid making false accusations but not to be naive pretending it’s not happening.

First of all, most ppl in this game are visualizes. They don’t belive you, until it’s gonna be so obvious. Second, you don’t include here other stuff, like auto-shield or auto-deflect. Also, all of this cheats can be simply combine in one and easly turn off by a pressing one single button. Third, for naming all this cheats, you just tell them names of this cheat, that will speed up their receipt and application by other players who have not yet done so. Fourth, video with demonstration would be much better. And fifth, nobody’s care.

I don’t think it’s the fact that many people believe what they see but the fact so many people use cheats. In fact the profits for the companies that sell such hacks are through the roof and no doubtedly many of their patrons play overwatch in addition to other FPS games.

I totally forgot about those auto-shield and deflect. Seen it many times when people play as Sigma and it seems like his rock has a homing capability. Or with Brigitte with a questionably perfect shield bash when you use ult or charge her.

Indeed many of those cheats could be used in combination with other cheats and binded to a key or scripted.

Awareness is the word of the day. It took me a while to figure out, but I knew some things weren’t right with the way some people are playing. Like if they can see it all happen before it happens…why aren’t they trillionaires? That’s what made me research and figure out they were using hacks and the name of those hacks. Did I start using hacks after researching…no, and I’m sure others aren’t either. I believe that the use of hacks are destroying the fun in games and that’s the bigger issue.

I agree, that a video would be great not just for Overwatch but examples with most popular FPS games. Perhaps people seeing this will keep the from using them and also help them identify them. The goal here is to bring this taboo subject out in the open.

I just ran into my 1st ever ult cheater. Zero way D.Va has 9 ults with less than 90 seconds between.

Ult cheats do not exist - this is server side state, and the client would not have the authority to modify such a value. If cheating was involved, it’s far more likely that this player had an aimbot or something that accelerated the amount of damage they did and built the ult faster than most people would normally be capable of.

That said, if you have a replay code I’d love to see what you’re referring to.

Would definitely want a replay on this one.

Cheats like that are exceedingly rare. Automated things are one thing. Actively modifying information sent to the server is another.

the best proof of cheating technically would be the replay code, something that, coincidentally, many people who accuse this game of cheating “in all my games” do not publish.

if you dont know how share it:

Aside from looking like a chat gpt article, many of these are not as in depth as they need to be to understand how the hacks work and what players can be using.

Most common hack are indeed esp, but they give the user FAR more information than wall hacks.
These will give cooldowns, ultimate charge, and sometimes even the ping of the user. ESP in short is any extra information the game doesn’t give you for a competitive advantage. Esp can include map hacks that display an overlay of everyone’s coordinates being kept open on another monitor. It could be having your UI adjusted to look like the PvE mission team layout to see all of your teams information freely.
This is almost always client side and impossible to detect or prove without an effective anti cheat. Player review and “post game codes” won’t help.

Aimbots are not always perfect tracking. They can add random values to X Y Z to make the aim look more natural and “random”. They can also lock on to different parts of a hitbox, not just your head. Common places are Head, chest (center of mass) and hands(think about how much a heroe’s hands move and where they generally are). Aimbots can also be toggled on and off, or quick toggled for snapshots in critical moments. Very rarely are aimbot hacks ALWAYS on.
Aimbots can also predict projectiles and fly time. If it can be calculated with math, it can be aimboted. Hanzo used to be the most common hero for cheats due to his “random” nature hiding a hacker, and the high payoff for his one shots.

You have automatic abilities and triggers:
Tracer dash when an enemy cross heir is on you.
Automatic Dva matrix when core abilities/ultimates are used.
Automatic sleep dart/base (with aimbot)
Automatic rien shield (block shatter ez)
Automatic deflect on critical abilities (flash, sleep, pulse bomb, etc)
Automatically shoot Sombras when they’re revealed from being too close.
Pretty much any “skill” interaction can be read on memory and reacted to.

You also have straight up bots that will use a mix of all of these to simulate a real player to join games and farm XP/wins. With comp requiring an entry amount of games, new accounts from hackers often bot to save themselves time by skipping over this requirement via botting. This is usually done with torb inside of arcade.

And lastly you have magic bullet hacks.
These are hacks that no matter where the player is aiming the shot will hit even across the map. These types are hacks are very rare, but can be used in combination with heroes like Hanzo and junkrat to make you “explode” from around a corner without the user thinking anything of it. Blizzard generally does a good job at detecting these extreme hacks.

As for how to catch cheaters…you never will unless they’re rage hacking or using very cheap hacks. Since most cheats are client side, you will never know which is why an anti cheat engine is so important. With overwatch not having any form of anti cheat in place you have major cheat providers giving away free sample keys weekly for their products, confident no one will get banned and blizzard won’t stop their hacks despite being over-produced.

Most of everything is spiraling out of control because this game ignores the most important factor of them all and that is cost mitigation.

Sure, lots of people buy cheats ranging from subscriptions that costs 50-1000 dollars per month to the point of if they have to buy the game again, they simply do not care.

But at least the company would make money off of accounts again, that they ban. But that would at least still fund the game.

The next issue is corruption. Every game company has devs in it that are leaking information to the outside world on how their own cheat detection systems work. I get it, the economy is rough and people need to pay their rent. And they know every person has a price. Sadly, that is EVERY game.

I think what it really starts with though is punishing the cheat USER with legal action and that is coming to the realization that under Computer Fraud and Abuse Act (CFAA) - 18 U.S.C. § 1030 . It would appear that it defines a person manipulating a computer in such a way to operate in a manner that is not intended. That the company should be able to request the offending user’s ISP to divulge their customer information and subpoena them to court for either a lawsuit or a criminal charge.

Im kinda surprised blizzard hasn’t done this. Considering they sue and penalize private server operators of their games for doing so. That they have completely missed this.

Oh well, one day. one of these game companies WILL do this. Sure, people will be outraged. But i mean its not like these games aren’t playable without cheats. Its just people that don’t want to simply learn how to move a mouse and play fair.
