The progression icons look cool, but with their random colors and shapes, it’s impossible to get any meaning out of them. Can you add a key to the progression page indicating what each one means?
I feel the same way!
Basically, what Ive done is sorta “memorized” the different levels/colors/designs of the Progression. Its really the only way.
The colors just mostly follow typical RPG rarities tbf. The name cards right?
White (common)
Blue (rare)
Purple (epic)
Orange / Gold (legendary)
Gold / Red (super legendary. Mythic. Whatever. Usually games name then different)
OP was referring to those colorful metal “shield” looking icons that go with any hero that you are skilled with.
Exactly. The ones that show next to your name on the progression page and over your head during the victory pose at the end of the game.
This is one of the most inconsequential but annoying things they changed in OW2. I have a 3 digit number and some kind of shield with glowing bits here and there? I have absolutely no idea if that number is high or low or what the shield means or how any of it compares to other people in the game? What’s worse is they still keep my beautiful old OW1 border and level next to it (which made perfect sense was satisfying to level up).
I feel this was one of those OW1 → OW2 changes they made for the sake of change.
Exactly. Not to mention, that I have hunderets of hours from OW1, that are not even counting towards this new progression system, so I can´t even take it seriously.
This. I have 1000 hours of OW1 on Winston. But it only shows the 8-10 hours worth of progression on him since the 2 changeover.
I get called out for being a noob until I hard carry. It’s dumb.
Besides the Bastion rework, Id say that the loss of the artistic portrait leveling-up display was one of the worst changes from OW1 to OW2.
Exactly, haha! It’s not that it’s THAT important, but dammit, I wanna know what it MEANS.
