For everyone upset at the mental scenario where they can’t play Kiriko on hour 1 of launch in the apparently most important competitive matches of their lives…
what if matchmaking only matched Kiriko-owners with 9 other Kiriko-owners, and nobody in that kinda match was at a disadvantage
And non-Kiriko owners were only matched with other non-owners so nobody had an advantage with the new kit
“But that will cause queues to be 46 hours long bruh for reasons I can’t explain”
There will be an insane influx of players in the first week of OW2 though, way more than enough to have instant matches most likely. And in that first week, most people will probably end up acquiring Kiriko by the end
So what if they did this selective matchmaking system for the first week only, and after that, it was normal matchmaking and most people already have Kiriko at that point. Problem solved
That’s great, but as soon as they introduce another new hero in season 2, then you have to split the queue into “has Kiriko and Mauga (speculating)”, “has Kiriko, but not Mauga”, “has Mauga, but not Kiriko”, and “has neither Kiriko nor Mauga”. Then this causes even more issues with the third hero release, and exponentially more so beyond that.
See the problem? Before you know it, you’ve got dozens of split queues.
That’s why I said it would only persist for the first week of launch, which is the most important time, and would allow most people to acquire Kiriko while also not creating any matches where some have her and some dont
Dont expect anyone but complainers with no evidence other an assumptions based on nothing to respond. Theres tons of options Blizzard can go to make this work really well but people here are tunnel visioned and blind thinkers. Good on you for posting tho
Easiest solution will be to release the new hero at the start of the new season but said hero is not playable in that competitive season.
Only after the season has ended will they be usable in competitive.
If players haven’t unlocked the hero by then, those players are at fault and really aren’t serious about completing anyway.
Yeah I know, it’s just funny to watch someone make up stuff in order to feel high and mighty on the internet. No regular human being would randomly start hating the common people of society because they work a job in data analytics.
Ah, Canada. If they need to have someone with a masters in math determine that automation would remove a lot of blue collar jobs, then that country truly is screwed.
Basic research into Canadian data analyst jobs show that people working 20+ years in the profession make about $80k CAD a year, so you literally are the middle class. You could’ve just lied and said you are a CS major from a school like UIUC working at Google.
But I guess that would’ve required a little bit of effort to lie on the internet, wouldn’t it? It sucks being a middle school dropout.
