Probably a dumb question

Alright, I’ve pretty much accepted I’m stuck in bronze for awhile from my lack of being able to play comp properly in the past. Is it a good idea to go into comp with some friends? I’ve tried this on my own but I also do know bronze is full of… awful plays and it’s hard to solo queue when you’re in this rank when not many people seem be able to group up properly. Would a team of 3 be okay to go into comp with if I don’t have a complete team?

Of course you can play with friends (assuming the SR gap isn’t too broad). You just need to keep in mind that if their SR is higher than you, the competition you’ll face might be a bit tougher than you’re used to.

Other than that, absolutely, grab some friends and practice together. Make improvements together as a team.

Sure, grouping up can’t hurt. But I am telling you, just work on your aim and flank. Half the time the enemy team won’t even turn around or it will take them so long that you could have already killed one or two of them. If you get good enough to do that, it should be a breeze to climb out of bronze.

You’d also probably work better with friends as well. Doubtful you’d all just go straight up dps.

I’ve got a few friends in silver willing to help me get at least higher bronze! They wanna work together and I remember being told in the past that it’s better to have 3 or just to solo queue but in bronze it’s probably a bit tougher than others. (I’ve seen comments about every rank though but bronze is definitely a tough one). So lets hope this helps us all!

I mostly play solo, and I firmly believe you can improve enough on your own to climb out in time, but honestly, the game is so much more enjoyable when you play with like-minded people.

The bigger your group, the more likely it will be that you’ll run into people that are also grouped, which means they might be more coordinated than you and your friends to start with. So, keep that in mind. That said, you shouldn’t let it discourage you, 'cause you’ll adapt in short order. The hardest part about bigger groups is that it can increase your queue time by a bit when you get to the larger groups, but if you’re sticking to a group of 3, it shouldn’t be much of an issue.

Anything is good but anytime u queue any players queing must be ready n willing to flex as u will get put with dps/tank mains etc. As long as u r all willing to flex u should be fine.

If you want i’ll carry you to the SR of your Friends so you don’t feel bad.

What hero(s) do you play?

i’m pretty much a flex player, better with dps I think (pharah, reaper, etc) and I can play mei if need be with junkrat (I main hanzo but have never taken him into comp!) I can play mercy or moira ( and really the only tank I can do is DVA )

I got out of bronze by grouping up with friends, I highly recommend trying it.

How to get out of bronze. Pick dps and carry yourself out or pick support and pray someone carrys you out of bronze.

When i was stuck in bronze i tried everything. What worked for me was one trickin junkrat. Once i got good with him, i just automatically started climbing. Im 1 win away from hit gold and im positve ill be in plat by end of season.

Pick a character that you could get a lot of kills and dmg with like junkrat or even bastion in bronze is op. Once you get pretty good with that character, youll be doing alot more to help the team win. The more you do the better the chance of winning the game.

Best characters to climb in lower ranks(my opinion) :

lucio(great for learning how to flank, probably better than brig at that sr just because no requirements to heal)

Junkrat(good shield break, decent at dealing with flankers, bad as escaping if being focused by more than 1 mobility hero)

Zen(stupid dps, discord wall hacks, need to learn how to aim and position, harmony best dps on team or main healer)

Roadhog(learn where to stand for right click deleting of people, hook causes tilt even though it’s “fixed”)

Brig(just flank and hold mouse 1, it even works in plat)
