Use it. It REALLY helps to locate you when you need healing.
BUT there are a few things that people just don’t realise:
- The “I need healing” button does not teleports the support to heal you on another side of a map or wall.
- The “I need healing” button does not revive you, it does actually nothing more than upset your support if used when you’re already dead.
- Spam “I need healing” does not make the support heal you faster or more.
General Tip: You NEED to know where your support is positionated, stay in his LOS (Line of Sight) if you want help when engaging. At low health: you can just group up with him to regenerate life. Consider sometimes take a look if your support is fine, if he’s being chased, where he is ETC.
Example: An Ana is in Numbani highground, why are you fighting inside that building? Why are you still on the other side of that enemy barrier? Why are you still asking for healing when the support is being completely wrecked by an Genji in the backline?
PS: The “thank you” button has the power to make someone happy
Sorry any clerical error

I’m going to spam it just to annoy you all.

Pretty sure an undocumented ability is that Genji receives 10% more healing if spamming that he does indeed need healing.

when someone says “I need healing” and they are out of position use the “group up” call out to alert them of your position.

Oh I get the panic response, believe me. If it’s obvious to me that’s what’s happening, I’ll let it go, especially if you hit the thanks command after. (appreciated but not required) Especially if you’re critical, that is panic city.

oh yeah i tend to use thanks practically every time i get healed lol,

Well, it’s their own fault for playing out of the LoS. Especially if Ana tells their team where she is.

Jokes on you I’m always being healed.
I haven’t died a single time in this game.

I do it only after I realize my supports are usually only focused on 1 target and ignores almost everything else. Otherwise I don’t, I trust them and expect them to know where I am.
I still press ty afterwards tho
I appreciate your trust on behalf of all supports!
I honeslty dont care if someone spams the I need healing when they need it. For me it’s like max three times spam, anything past that is pushing it and annoying. Also hate it when people spam I need healing when they die, every single time.

Basically this, yeah. And I’ve had moments where I legit don’t hear/register the voiceline the first time. Whether it’s because the game doesn’t play it, I’m minoring tunnel-visioning, or it’s my cohealer and it’s accidentally playing as the come to me for healing.
IT also Does not remove anit-nade status effect

It’s especially useful for Widows and Pharah who are usually way out of my eyeline.
Agreed.
Using the need heals button is useful.
Spamming the need heals button makes me wish friendly fire was a thing in Overwatch.
