Pre-Patch Issue

Season’s 2 and 3 were just fine for download the pre-content patch, but now this one is refusing to complete. It gets to 100% and then “continues” to download only for it to completely restart and go back to 230mb remaining, and it’ll then go ahead and download at my normal speed and update 1mb at a time until it reaches 100%, rinse and repeat.

Scan and repair happened happily nothing bad was found, just a very buggy pre-patch, done all the was required to “attempt” to fix it but nothing, throwing this here in hopes that I’m not the only one and it’s just a visual issue or from their end.

Hey there,

We haven’t seen any widespread reports of issues downloading the prepatch. That doesn’t mean there aren’t any but absent a large number of reports, issues like this tend to be local to the system, client or network.

Just to see if I could replicate it with any of my battle.net accounts, I did check on 2 different battle.net accounts across 3 computers and 2 connections and everything appears to have updated fine.

Updates stalling or looping at or near 100% are typically being blocked by permissions, firewalls or security programs. So the first thing I would recommend is to check for any security software or firewall conflicts (Both on the system and with any network device like a router or modem). Then you’d want to rule out potential Windows permission issues and the easiest way to do that would be to create a new windows admin account.

Once the account is created, shut down the computer, wait 60 seconds, restart, log into the new profile and try the app/client.

If that doesn’t help then I suggest submitting a ticket with system files attached to allow us to dig into this further than we can do here on the forums. My other pre-patches that happened went through no problem, and everything is opened for Battle net games…

Also too, you do know how hard it is now to make a “New windows account” it’s not like what it was to easily create a temporary account.

I am running the Beta version of Battle net, going to revert back to live and see it that was the problem.

Update: Reverting client back to live didn’t help, so after trying it on another account that was already with my pc, I noticed a update to the client. THEN afterwards OW2 had a 4gb update, switched accounts back to my own and saw that there was a update to the client installed it, now I’m seeing the same 4gb for it.
