Ppl who don’t use their ults within 2 team fights

I have a major problem with these players. Use your ultimate. By the time they would have had another ult by now especially healers. Completely ruining the game by not pressing Q. It’s so frustrating.

As soon as we get dva out of mech, force suzu, force fade, find the sombra and make mei to use her ice block Ill use my captive sun I swear.

I completely agree.

I was one of those players that never used their ultimate and wanted to save it for “that” moment.

It was that very thing that stopped me from getting into Diamond. Once I realized that, my rank skyrocketed.

Eventually people will learn, but someone has to tell them that

I sit on beat far too long sometimes. With how routinely I build it in around 2-2.5 mins, my barriers provided per 10 mins should be much higher.

A lot of players still have this OW1 mentality where they feel the need to wait for the most perfect opportunity to get a full team wipe with their ult.

Or you could just click heads and win duels with mechanical skill instead of iwin buttons.

Only ult I genuinely sit on for a long time is High Noon. his base kit is way better than the ult and more impactful, so holding it to zone off people when they need to make a final push or it’s overtime

True. At the start of a match I usually tell my team I’m going to Transc aggressively and they need to push forward.

There’s a few times I’ll hold my Support ults (I’m fully aware how bad that is). Usually it’s because I’ve come to the conclusion there’s a specific player who will focus their ult with only me in mind. Generally that’s the case when we have a clear advantage during a round and said player wants revenge. And yes my plan to counter them has backfired countless times. I’ll still do it from time to time.

But yeah, sitting on ults for too long is almost always bad.

It’s a real hard mental block to overcome. Gamers do the same thing in almost every situation, save the big guns or the big buff for the perfect moment or because they might NEED it later even if they can use it now.

There’s a pretty big meme out there about it where you save all your pots and items for that last boss fight… then beat the game never using them.

OW players like to save it till the perfect moment…
Then they end up blowing it when they’re 1 v 5 and it’s a loss anyway because they dunno the whole rest of the team died.

Sad.

But it’s not something you can make people do… they just gotta learn.

Depends upon the ultimate and the interaction it has.

For example, Sombra’s ultimate can cancel out like 14 different ultimates which us huge value.

Likewise you can still get the same result from plain hacking. Whereas several ultimates do not shut off with just a well targeted hack. Such as Sym’s Wall. Nor is hack reliable upon damage over time hacks like Moira’s coal if she is aiming for you.

So a well timed EMP can literally shut down a lot of ultimates. Such as Kiriko’s Rush, while it doesn’t stop the movespeed and firerate buffs, an EMP can negate the cooldown refresh buff and lock out those abilities which can turn into a trap for most team as they rush forward with very limited options.

Before we complain about preserving ultimates we need to understand what the ultimate economy is and how interactions work.

This’ll change from hero to hero, but yes I agree if you have something like Ashe’s Bob, its best to use it every team fight. Even if Bob doesn’t get any elimns his presence is still very strong in that he xan absorb abilities, redirect fire, and cause a lot of issues for an enemy team.

But ultimates like Nano, Blade, Grav, Annihilation all require proper setup and timing to utilize correctly to maximise their effectiveness.

I just laugh these days when they do this, because it’s always being held for that epic play.

Like every Genji and Cass ever just start hearing boss music and think they’re about to go nuts, but it’s a 1v5 and we’re all walking back from spawn.

They should just get rid of them. Too much dumb luck or sheer stupidity involved.

Get rid of ults?

Go back to CoD if you want that.

Trust me, you are not thinking clearly. You do not want me to use death blossom unless you want your best player dead. Let’s not do that. :weary:

CoD basically has ults there big brain. I’d gladly go back to a proper shooter like UT, though. Too bad they fell out of favor. Ults are hilarious in this game, you can literally win having lost 90% of the skirmishes in a match because a few people pressed Q at a more optimal moment. Though, the team that let’s that happen is daft.
