I was in a comp game it just began. My power went out for a split second and now I’m suspended for 5 minutes and I lose 50 sr. Besides winning is there a way to get them back cause I don’t deserve to have them lost due to a power outage.

You can get that SR back in like 20 minutes man. Don’t let it get you down. Life happens. Nothing’s perfect but this is the best system we have so far to combat leavers and throwers.

Unfortunately there is nothing they can do. The reasoning is because there is no way to confirm that you disconnected because of a power outage or if you unplugged your computer yourself.
They have to regrettably blanket all disconnects otherwise everyone who disconnected intentionally could just contact blizzard and say it was because of an external factor and have it lifted which would circumvent the leaver penalty all together.
We can either have to deal with an occasional penalty or a deal with the leaver problem being much worse then it already is.

There isn’t anything you can do, because the game doesn’t know that there was an outage, or, whether you just unplugged your network cable. So, everyone dropping out of competitive gets -50SR and a (very) short suspension.

The only thing I will add, that while a power outage is usually a one-time issue that is easily diagnosed (for most people), if a player is encountering crashes or disconnections, please remember to stop playing Competitive, fully troubleshoot and resolve the issue, then test in several matches in a mode like Quick Play or Deathmatch before resuming any competitive battles. This ensures any leaves you may take due to problems like this are minimized and you can quickly work back into “good standing” with the Competitive Leaver Penalty system.

I’m mainly annoyed because of my fight to stay in gold rank. I was 2190 yesterday. Played a few more went down to 2050. Won a game (before this one) got up to 2070. Felt good and went to continue and the power went out. Just an annoyance is all.
I think you have a right to be annoyed. I get pissed when I lose power lol. But don’t let it eat away at you. If you’re really putting the work in to improve as a player, you’ll be able to keep your rank up in gold, and it won’t feel so hard to climb back there even when things like this happen from time to time.
