was playing at a 103 pov setting, decided to try out 80 just too see what its like and dam…EVERYTHING IS BIGGER
you also move slower? why is that lol?
staying at 80 too now since i got a 60 percent accuracy rate on widow… its easier

Yes, so everything will be bigger, since there’ll be more pixels per degree (because there’s less degrees to fill with pixels).
You move the same speed! The reason higher FOV’s feel faster, for the most part, is because as things move towards the outer edges of your screen, they end up moving faster. The highest speed vibe FOV would be 180 degrees, where things would positive teleport off of the screen near the edge.
At 80 degrees, things at the other edge are 40 degrees from your cursor. They are are still technically directly in front of you.
At 103 degrees, things at the outer edge at 51.5 degrees away. This is technically to your side.
If you move the slider back to 103 degrees, and then tape off enough pixels to reduce it down to just the amount you’d see at 80 degrees, you’ll notice that it’ll look the same, because effectively it is the exact same. And it’ll feel slower.
i think 80 is perfect for widowmaker but i dont know how ill feel like with sombra since i need the illusion that im GOING FAST
anyways my last 3 games with widow were awesome with 80 pov

i get the feeling tho ill get use to it and the advantage will go away. maybe i should alternate 103 to 80 so i remember what super speed is like lol
… you can change your FoV?
woops lol… uhh pov… fov
same thing
your right tho its “field of view” not “point of veiw”
You’re not moving slower, its just that your perspective changed. Imaging taking a step to your right, and then take another step to the right while looking through binoculars. You’ve moved the same distance, but it looks different while you move.
Everything will appear larger on the screen, but those things will also appear to move faster due to how perspective works.
I suspect youre either falling victim to a placebo effect (i.e. someone told you to do this that it would help and now you think it does), or you’re playing on a monitor too small so you physically cannot see things without them appearing bigger.
yea its a placebo most likely. i did this a while ago too then the placebo wears off. i dont think it really matters but yea it does feel SLOWER at the least minimum fov
That reminds me of tf2 ambassador sniping. You have a script that would lower your fov and work as a ‘legal’ scope.
dam played a game as sombra with the fov at 80… horrendous. i think it sucks on fast moving heroes
