It’s not just Kiriko. It’s a skill input delay with a lot of heroes.
You can find this bug on:

  • Moira
  • Reaper
  • Mei
  • Bap
  • Rein
  • Orisa

Probably other heroes too. Doubtful they’ll do anything about it though.

Sounds like a lag of some kind, not a bug…

Remove her from the game for a few weeks :star_struck:

It’s a bug. It happens on other heroes as well, usually during peak hours. This person isn’t the only individual having this problem as I’ve seen it happen a lot and it happens to me as well.

So are you telling me it is not a lag related issue, by saying it happens during peak hours, when servers are most laggy?

Do you see irony?

Pretty sure it’s a combination of two things Lag and the ā€œfavor the shooterā€ mechanic. Mei for instance has been wronged for years with this. You hit iceblock, some times even get into the block and then die.

Because the server decides that the shooter killed you first. It’s no different than when you run around a corner and die to a sniper who can no longer even see you, because they ā€œhitā€ you while you were still in the open.

I thought you were implying it was a lag related issue for him. I’m just a layman here and I know next to nothing about code. It could be lag related, or it could be coding related due to the volume of people on the server. That said, there aren’t that many people playing, let’s be honest. And while I said usually during peak hours, I didn’t say it always occurs during peak hours.

I think that would be the first when number of people on the server would cause a code related bug…

It could be, but server side lags also do happen…

Great example is D3 now. Blizzard cheaped out on servers for that game since player base was dwindling (and that was understandable on their part to do this), but now game is really laggy in peak hours because many players came back for this season (it has really good theme, and hype is really big due to D4 launching this year). So if you want to play D3 now, you should do it outside of ā€œpeak hoursā€. Sounds like same happens here. Especially that we are talking about console, and Blizzard is known for neglecting that player base…

Oh they will, it’s just something that will be patched in the background and no one will talk about it when it’s actually fix. And everyone will act like the devs don’t do anything when ever set of patch notes has a dozen or so fixes.

Idk I’m not going to pretend that I know anything about code, not my field. I’m just spitballing. Regardless there’s another thread about it in the bug forum and that’s currently the only place it can be reported all things considered. But honestly, I doubt they even read the forum so right now we’re all just speculating as to the cause without anything that’ll actually be done.

I wouldn’t be surprised if they cheaped out on OW2 servers. It definitely seems like support for the game has dwindled since 2021. But that’s what happens when they have a mass exodus of employees I guess.

Also my experiences with this are on pc. I don’t play on console.

Edit:

Oh they will, it’s just something that will be patched in the background and no one will talk about it when it’s actually fix. And everyone will act like the devs don’t do anything when ever set of patch notes has a dozen or so fixes.<

People act like they don’t do anything because there’s never any acknowledgement of a lot of the issues so when something does get fixed it’s generally assumed that it has been fixed by accident or that they just some how fixed it when they fixed something else.

Perhaps I’m jaded because I’ve been around the loop with this game since the third season of OW1 but the community used to be interacted with a lot on the forums. They used to indicate when they were fixing things or when things have been fixed. The devs haven’t even posted on the bug forum for 2 whole years. That isn’t a good look. So it’s no small wonder that people just assume that things aren’t being looked at or that they aren’t fixing things.

What a breath of fresh air that would be.

Sure, that is why I explained this. I have some experience with troubleshooting stuff like that. Also I have few friends that are or were developers, so they told me a thing or two about it.

I am not authority also, don’t get me wrong. It might be, actually, a code related issue… But I wouldn’t put my money on that.

Oh for sure. If player made sure it is not a lag on their part, then bug report section is the place to report that issue. Especially that player doing this does not need to have any knowledge in troubleshooting or development… It is perfectly fine to just say ā€œit looks like a bug… It quacks like a bug… It is a bugā€.

Bottom line is, for sure, that if this is a problem on Blizzard side, they are the only ones that can fix it.

I had something similar with GA on PC, but I am sure it was a lag on my side of the connection.

But, again, server side lags do happen.

I’ve experienced the issue too. The suspicious thing about it is that this didn’t seem to be a problem until the most recent patch… and it’s now happening frequently. It may be partially due to lag, but my mind is leaning towards the possibility that this last patch may have messed something up.

I’m too tired to use the quote box or figure it out on my measly 5 hours of sleep. But responding to your second point, I definitely agree with you.

Honestly only time will tell. Have a nice afternoon, thank you for spitballing with me.

I know exactly what you’re talking about and it is so annoying! Also throwing your suzu and dying after then looking at the kill cam and it’s like you never even used suzu.

This most def happens to me at times when I play her. She’ll do the hand sign, I’ll hear the tp sound effect, but she doesn’t go anywhere. So then I have to do it a second time, if I’m not already dead. Or my teammate…

Can be pretty frustrating ngl :triumph:

You should go on ā€œBUG reportā€ forum.

Oh, yes, they definitely read those. Albeit, not like they read these either…
