When someone leaves in competitive, you’re most likely screwed, because there’s no replacement players.
BUT! What if people who were in queue could get put into the game? But whoever got thrown into that game as a replacement player wouldnt have their rank affected by the game, only the 4 original players. And if whoever gets put in cares about rank progress, he can just leave and make room for someone else. At least this way, theres hope for the original 4 players because then there’s a chance of someone stepping in and helping them.
Anyone agree that this solution is better than how it currently is?

it SOUNDS good but in reality, how many people would then lose their chances to move their rank at all because there could be a chance they’d be mostly back-filling games most of the night.

I agree with Joxxi.
But what if the one thrown into could have his/her rank affected only if his/her team wins…?

Terrible idea. Just take the loss and move on.

i have always really appreciated this logic:
the leaver problem is symmetrical. it impacts both teams. however, since you aren’t going to leave that means the enemy team has five possible leavers, but your team only four.
unless you leave matches early then, by the number, leavers help you win more than they force a loss.
in arabic countries they punish shoplifters by cutting off their hand
what if we cut off the leavers…cat6 cables??
