in the new winter event, they’ve added a shorter mercy rez animation, as you can see in possible mercy buff - YouTube .
I think this change is great and they need to do this because mercy is
not that viable right now and she needs a new fresh buff.
tbh, I think this change may come to live a few weeks after the event cause they
wont work hard on a new animation just for this mode.
I highly doubt it. Mercy isn’t even that bad right now, and if she got this buff it would honestly be crazy. Part of what adds a lot of decision making and risk to rez is the cast time because she leaves herself vulnerable during the entire cast. Meaning she has to think about where and when to use it.
I feel like this would just be closer to Moth Mercy rez which was hated a lot because it was instant. This is very close to instant

the thing is that alot of noob mercys don’t rez because of the delay they are to scared
Mercy is one of the best Supports currently, the Meta totally fits her and her pickrate is very high in pro play and quite high in ranked. Mercy is very balanced atm, she is fine and doesnt need buffs. Such a short rez anination would be extremely unhealthy for the game, expecially with superjump you can just rez your Maintank dying at the frontline…

Mercy is part of the pro meta rn and she is extremely strong. Damage boost needs tuning down she doesn’t need a buff whatsoever

Well that’s the thing; they are new to mercy so they are still learning her and making mistakes. But a lot of experienced Mercy players go for bold rezzes they can get away with.
Shortening the cast time would just make it cheesy where the main tank could die on the front line but she could go and rez and pretty much get out alive
I disagree about nerfing her; I think she is just strong because rush is bad right now (Rein/Lucio/Moira/Zarya) in high ranks. If we get rid of this Bap/Sig clown fiesta I think she would go down in usage a lot in pro play

Legit every hero gets nerfed except mercy. It’s her turn. She won’t allow heroes like ashe and pharah etc to be good because her damage boost is broken. There’s a reason she is hardcore meta in contenders. Her versatility and utility is unmatched rn with all the hero nerfs happening to everyone except her
Except bap isn’t even being played remotely as much as mercy zen rn but let’s nerf bap even more haha yeah no. Sigma is the far bigger problem and he still somehow manages to get everyone nerfed around him instead of himself.

Jesus don’t buff her, she will only end up nerfed two weeks later with more taken than was given.
At this point I’d settle with just cleaning up her animations and sound cues.

They just increased the speed of the animation since unfreezing a player is pretty much as long as rez so they needed to keep rez a good option.
About the buff, While I do think they can go for something with her current kit in term of balancing she’s really not underpower… She was meta for so long and is still one of the best support in the game, coming 4th place in gm with respectful pick rate and 2nd in pretty much any other rank…

I was literally spending the 4 or whatever secs to unfreeze them when I could simply Rez them? I’m shook.
It’s not coming to live though. She is fine and doesn’t need any nerfs or buffs. This would just make her oppressive and all the people saying “She just undid my very skillful play!”(Random spamzo headshot) would get even more upset.

She’s viable Rn, only issue she has is discord is more valuable that dmg boost Rn in the poke meta just change zen and she’ll be fine
While I’d love to see a Mercy buff, it’s highly unlikely. Especially with resurrection. One of the biggest factors of Rez is the risk-reward factor, deciding weather or not resurrecting someone is worth it. I’d describe it almost like a form of “skillshot”, since I can’t find a good word for it.
No because Blizzard will never revert directly back to the same state as something we had before (when it comes to Mercy), the thing is… this short res was added in because for this mode, Dethaw works like Res so it would be redundant to use Res if it had it’s cast time.
Plus near instant means Mercy doesn’t run the risk of dying and what annoyed DPS players most was the fact that Mercy came in, res and flew out.
This entire mode is essentially a Mercy res game, as in you dethaw when it is safe, you avoid dying in stupid places and you mark the bodies and kills so that Players don’t get a res and you shoot them down when they go res

While it could definitely be shortened, this would be far too fast. As long as Mercy has the ability on cooldown, it needs to have heavy limitations to make it a risky play.
While it doesn’t need to be as long as 1.75 seconds, that clip was rezzing Ana far too quickly. Having it match Hanzo’s Dragon Strike cast time (1.3 seconds) should be as fast as it could get, so anywhere between there an 1.75 seconds would be a good number to play around with for testin.
I really don’t think Mercy needs buffs right now, shes good.

hahahhaha. no. Im a mercy main with 247+ hours on her and she does not need this buff. If her rez animation got shorter i’d rather it be in valk then not in valk. But she does not need any buffs. she is lovely right now.
