It feels like the logic used for stopping you when you hit a wall (resetting momentum to 0) was used on vortex.
They wanted to stop burst momentum, I get that, but resetting it to an absolute 0 is dumb. Right now it feels like something an amateur would implement, or someone that wanted to just “get it over with” doing stuff off the trello.
Please make it not reset it to an absolute 0, then it won’t feel like, well, hitting a wall. Vortex was always meant to stop burst momentum and flight, not act like a circular glass wall
And for the love of god, increase gravity instead of Y-translating downwards (this once again feels like it wasn’t given much thought into)
Did anyone else expect a
Ramattra Vortex from reading the title?

I think a Russian Ramattra would have been even more epic, but Ramon Tikaram is already a good voice actor.
They need to give him more brutal voice lines.

It was meant to do all of the above.
It is an area deniel ability. If you exist where it exists, you will take damage and have mobility restrictions.
That’s how Ram creates space.
The ability can be stopped in a number of ways. It’s fine.
I’m not saying it shouldn’t? I’m saying it shouldn’t feel jank because they reset momentum
Blizzard usually spends a great deal of time adjusting how certain abilities “feel” when used in countering other abilities. Especially since OW2 and the playerbase’s resentment towards “hard”-CC.
Still this doesn’t sound like a bad idea to go over it again and give it a more polished reaction. Maybe even introduce some pop-ups similar to “Pinned” or “Hacked” when being affected by Vortex.
I’m glad I wasn’t the only one who thought this.
