Zarya has become so insufferable to play against becoming the defacto swap to zarya when losing while microwaving the entire team, so please move her out of meta for a decade or two , i rather play against the horse than the russian microwave

I too do not like playing into heroes that counter my mains.
While Zarya is good, imo the playerbase needs to get better at not shooting barriers unless there is a reasonable chance to kill through it. In matches where people don’t feed her charge, she feels considerably worse.
Same, give me Orisa any day over Zarya every single game.
This isnt even about D.Va vs Zarya post (which yes thats a worse match up for dva) but Zarya is just to OP in general that even other tanks have a hard time dealing with her
She’s literally in every single game for me this season because if I start on D.Va then if they don’t start on Zarya they will be on her shortly. Even in QP. Like, I don’t like playing against only Zarya all the time. It’s never been quite this bad. Like, it’s been bad, but for some reason it’s worse this season.
Well, she certainly isn’t the most represented tank on the leaderboard atm, so, not sure we can really argue she is op. Tho there is actually a lot of variety there, and seems Winston might be the strongest tank atm.
Zarya is just pretty easy to play especially if people feed her charge. Why the playerbase does that so frequently? Who knows.
Also with ana being in almost every game, it’s nice to be a tank who doesn’t care about being hit with anti as much as most.

Yea. 5v5 is counter swap the tank to win. Being on Dva certainly increases your chances of playing into a Zarya.
It always has, but it’s way worse this season. I can’t remember a season where the swaps to Zarya were this frequent. And even when you win, it’s still frustrating because you have to completely change everything you do when she exists.
And even when I play tanks other than D.Va, I’m still seeing a lot of Zarya for some reason. And I think that reason might be that she has no clear hard counters. There’s some soft counters. Winston and Rein are both good into Zarya. But I she seems to have less direct counters than most tanks and also can cleanse the Ana stuff which is running rampant this season. That’s just my speculation as to why.
Who knows but thats no reason to keep her OP, she is just so easy to gain and mantain charge while pressing W

Totally this, she has no hard counters at all, wintons hope isnto dive the backline and kill the supps so zarya melts but no direct haha now you have no fun swap against zarya
And a well supported zarya can also melt a rein by just pressing W
I personally think it’s because she got pretty good perks, and Ana. Zarya is like the go to swap when the enemy has stuff that makes tanks lives annoying. Ana forces quite a few tanks to either swap if they don’t have a kiri saving suzu for anti, or pretty much die a bunch. She is like the comfort pick this season, where in the past orisa fit that bill.
I disagree that she is actually OP. And people need to give her charge for her to be very threatening. I think a big reason playing into Zarya can be miserable, even if you are not a hero she counters, is because it’s your teammates who make her so strong. Coming across a full charge Zarya when you didn’t charge her up feels bad.
Fine by me, nerf Ana. But I think Ana and perks is why we see Zarya rising. She wasn’t played much the past few seasons, she wasn’t one of the best tanks. She hasn’t gotten buffs in a while, it’s just been perks and a meta shift.
Charge that is VEEEERY EASY TO GET AND MANTAIN, they should nerf her so it loses charge faster

It’s only very easy to get because people keep shooting her. Why do they keep shooting her? If they are like junkrat then sure, she can easily walk into it after they shot, and junk should consider swapping. But so often ppl just dmg the bubbles with no hope of really killing her once it breaks. The playerbase makes her stronger than she should be.
Well the numbers we actually have to go by are the leaderboards, and she doesn’t have many spots there in the past few seasons. Tho I do believe lower ranks have more Zarya as lower ranks shoot her barrier more to charge her, and not finish her off.
On the bright side players may finally learn when to shoot her after this meta…. Probably not.
They nerf Zarya then they also need to nerf DVa. Good luck getting that past DmonDiff!
Yea, I doubt it. People have done this for how many years now? Like there are times to shoot it to try and kill her; or whoever is bubbled. But so often ppl just shoot it when she is like full health and just walks out to press bubble.
But then there are those games, against like Winston who doesn’t give charge, and other enemies who are just not feeding Zarya charge. And running around with like 0-40 energy most of the game is rough for Zarya.
Characters that are busted without team coordination have and always will be bad for the same. Yes it’s a team game and team work should be involved, but if the top 5-10% of players can’t coordinate to not charge the Zarya at all times then maybe it’s a problem.
Yeah those games are rough for her. She can’t do much if no one charges her.

Zarya literally doesn’t die unless your team is coordinated enough to microwave her first through her 2 bubbles and then her regular HP to kill her. If you don’t do that, she will not die and just get free charge.
Except shocker! Ladder play isn’t coordinated enough so this hero needs to be butchered.
She’s one of the most powercrept heroes in overwatch history right now. She’s a tank with no real counter, other than getting map diffed. And even THEN maps are becoming more floor tank friendly with their highgrounds AND she just got a perk that borderline removes the entire highground counterplay.
