Clearly Blizzard don’t take any real action as it is getting worse. In the UK it is a criminal offence… why are Blizzard not sending the details to the police…
They make no comment about it and don’t punish it strongly enough, if at all.
They are implicit in the problem and there complete lack of visible action is just them supporting racism and bullying of all types in the game.
(yeah I’m pissed off… turned comms back on for one game, only for some drip of a human being to spout constant racist abuse (I have screen shoted it for evidence), and bully people he decided had mental illness’…
Now people keep saying, “if they do that, just mute and block and blah blah blah”… but no, sod that, Blizzard and normal decent human beings need to stand up and say enough is enough, you can f""k right off and get out of our community, you are not welcome.

It’s not the company nor the game itself, go play virtually any game out there with a large playerbase that’s pvp. You’re going to see the same types of people because that’s what internet anonymity does.
I don’t join VC/chat anymore, I got too tired dealing with people expressing their feelings. Without needing to deal with anyone, the matches aren’t any different (people are still trying their hardest). It’s just now I don’t have to deal with the stress of dealing with people bickering.
Instead of demanding someone do something, why don’t you do something about it with the tools given?

I did turn all comms off… but I was duo’ing with a friend (11 years old who was really upset about seeing that abuse as it was directed at him), and he wanted to have comms.
I know it is a cultural thing, it;s getting worse in real sports crowds in Europe too… But the institutions running these venues and competitions are responsible for taking action (usually a fine or prison) and for reminding/educating there stakeholders that this is not acceptable and they won’t tolerate it.
Something big American companies don’t do, as they tend to have a right wing political agenda anyways, and racism is something they use to stoke fear (a debate for another day there lol)
While I strongly dislike toxicity in chat, a world where people get arrested by the police for saying something stupid in a chat room in a game is worse.

Once in a while I hear some kid or a drunk person being stupid in chat. Saying things they would never say irl to somebody’s face.
Just report and move on. You won’t hear it 99% of the time.

Wanting someone prosecuted for being racist in a video game is ridiculously tyrannical and goes against any civilized notion of free speech. If you report them to blizzard and they never get banned then blame blizz and stop playing. Raise awareness of Blizz’s refusal to do anything on other forums and try to get people to give Blizz crap en masse.

Blizz should definitely deal with toxic players but they don’t ‘need’ to do anything for you. Perceived inadequate policing of something hardly equates support, and I bet there’s nothing in the TOS that contractually guarantees you a pleasant experience with other players.
All that being said, you should do what you can to make the community better and report to Blizz, but don’t feel entitled to Blizz actually doing what you want, cause they don’t care.
Considering all the pro-racism on social media, its just more propaganda they refuse to take responsibility for. They’re the kind of company that wants to appeal to everyone yet offend no one. Greed is more important than taking action against racism.

There is a button called “block” which is the equivalent of “they never existed” use it.
Report them. They already ban people for being jerks, I get the thank you notice almost every day from reporting some idiot who said something toxic.
There is a Mute button or the option to throw the Game( ehm jokes)
