Nah macbooks are bad and should NEVER be used for gaming.

Do you even know anything about Apple Silicon? it’s not the old macbooks with intel and overheating problems anymore. Educate yourself before commenting.

ah yes they suck. they suck for gaming your right, but the new M1 absolutely hauls major fanny and shouldnt be laughed about. apple silicon is a creative sort of chip. for music, art, video production, not gaming.

Like every other subject about this: I don’t think it’ll really be worth the effort for them to support Apple, since Apple users are a minority.

There’s many games running great on Apple silicon through emulation on windows 11 on ARM.

Ah yes, all you need to do is buy the most expensive Macbook Pro to get an entry-level gaming experience (compared to desktop/PC) on hardware that is designed primarily for Photoshop and Final Cut Pro.

Remember kids, just because hardware can run games doesn’t mean it’s designed to - you can also run games on a $10000 Quadro card but it’s definitely not good value for money.

Buying a Mac for gaming? The OS doesn’t even support the Vulkan API, FFS. Time would be much better spent on a Linux port, if anything.

OW is barely optimized as is, I can’t even imagine the problems it would give Apple products. Sounds like a disaster waiting to happen to an expensive Macbook.

I did. Apple is overpriced and should not be used.

Apple make decent enough gear for that they are. But why pay for something that is overpriced when you could by something that is cheaper and, more often that not, better quality. I work in telco and Apple are behind the ball on a lot for their phones and they charge more. FOR WHAT?! the idea that you get an apple device. NTY

For better or worse:
The overwhelming majority of people are using Windows for gaming purposes and I’d say it’s simply not worth the time and effort it would take.

Why not simply create a Windows partition for gaming?

macs are not designed for gaming and the m1 can still thermal throttle

It’s mostly just Apple’s software that sucks. Developer could make more games for their terrible laptops but why bother with Apple taking cuts of your profit on top of dealing with bad architecture.

Do yourself a solid, buy Windows and leave Apple to its intended user base, tech-clueless boomers.

Apple doing bad is great for everyone (not using apple) since developers won’t have to update their apps across two platforms anymore.

I love competition, but I wish it was with hardware and custom software, not operating systems. Apple so greedy and downright atrocious they had to be forced into usb-c. They really don’t deserve a win.

Macs have the hardware, but Apple makes it very difficult and costly to develop games on their MacOS platform mainly due to the hurdles involving the graphics API. Here is a third-party article that explains more:

Officially there are no statements from Blizzard that they have any new games in development for the MacOS platform.

They have the hardware to do so, they just make it difficult to port over to.

Macbooks have the best screen and trackpad you can find on any laptop. People do more than game on a computer my guy.

You don’t look at a lot of laptops, do you?

The screens and trackpad are good, don’t get me wrong (imaging talking up a trackpad in a gaming forum lol) but they’re hardly the definitive best and they’re definitely not “must-buy” reasons.

yeh i use it all the time. the only problem is u have to buy an activation key. screw off MS we just want to use vms.

I only buy macbooks as they are the only laptops that I can find with a good screen and trackpad. Is what it is

But can it run Crysis?
