If Quickplay was replaced with Mystery Heroes once a week, I’m betting most players wouldn’t be OK with that. Because QP and MH are two different games.
So why does Deathmatch get cycled out every week for “Mystery Deathmatch”?
It’s an entirely different game. Deathmatch is one of the only places in Overwatch where you can freely choose any hero without negative team consequences. It’s one of the best practice modes… And once a week it’s taken out of rotation for the completely worthless “Mystery Deathmatch.”
It’s understandable to be disappointed. I get disappointed when 3v3 or Hero Gauntlet isn’t in the arcade. However, it IS a FFA so it does make sense for it to be there. It wouldn’t make sense for it to replace one of the others because then we’d have two FFA modes taking up two separate slots, giving us less options in arcade, which isn’t ideal.
Again, I can see the frustration but ultimately you’ll have to wait for a day. I’m sure there are plenty of people on the other side who love Mystery DM (???) and get disappointed like you. So to take that away from them would suck as well.
Workshop does not have a matchmaker. The entire reason DM is effective practice is the matchmaker.
Also, I’m not saying Mystery DM should be entirely removed from the Arcade. It should be removed from the Deathmatch rotation. My whole point is that it’s an entirely distinct game mode.
I highly agree. I hate Mystery Heroes. FFA and Mystery Heroes combined is NOT the same as FFA. It doesn’t have the same quality to me. It’s not fun. I feel like they should just have everything up at once or something so we can actually pick what we want to do.
It’s also hard to practice or warm up if I can’t pick the hero I want. :
They should DEFINITELY remain separate games. I hate that they were ever combined.
Agreed. This is why I love mirrored deathmatch. Totally fair. Nothing is more annoying than joining FFA and it’s just 4 Roadhogs and miscellaneous McCrees, Junks, and Doomfists running around. With the occasional surprise sniper.
