Please stop replacing Deathmatch with Mystery Deathmatch. They are not the same game

If Quickplay was replaced with Mystery Heroes once a week, I’m betting most players wouldn’t be OK with that. Because QP and MH are two different games.

So why does Deathmatch get cycled out every week for “Mystery Deathmatch”?

It’s an entirely different game. Deathmatch is one of the only places in Overwatch where you can freely choose any hero without negative team consequences. It’s one of the best practice modes… And once a week it’s taken out of rotation for the completely worthless “Mystery Deathmatch.”

Stop.

I don’t think it’s practice they want, but more so being able to choose a specific hero without their team getting onto them :slightly_smiling_face:

There’s not exp in workshop.

I could go for some skins rn tbh

It changes daily, I’m sure you can wait a day to not play that specific mode.

Still doesn’t make sense for it to be in the FFA rot. It would fit a lot better in one of the other daily rots (which Mirrored/Gauntlet are in).

Personally I get super disappointed when I boot up OW for some FFA and then see Mystery FFA in the arcade.

A lot of them have weird rules and there’s no guarantee a match will start full.

As for “create your own,” it takes ages for people to join. People mainly use the server browser for 11v1 Boss Fight or friendly servers.

It’s time to learn more than one hero

It’s understandable to be disappointed. I get disappointed when 3v3 or Hero Gauntlet isn’t in the arcade. However, it IS a FFA so it does make sense for it to be there. It wouldn’t make sense for it to replace one of the others because then we’d have two FFA modes taking up two separate slots, giving us less options in arcade, which isn’t ideal.

Again, I can see the frustration but ultimately you’ll have to wait for a day. I’m sure there are plenty of people on the other side who love Mystery DM (???) and get disappointed like you. So to take that away from them would suck as well.

Workshop does not have a matchmaker. The entire reason DM is effective practice is the matchmaker.

Also, I’m not saying Mystery DM should be entirely removed from the Arcade. It should be removed from the Deathmatch rotation. My whole point is that it’s an entirely distinct game mode.

DM is a dumb mode for a hero shooter anyways, unless it is same hero locked to balance the mode.

Stop one tricking

Problem solved

what machmaker? I get placed in a game filled with noobies.

I guess what I mean is that the current FFA rot is:

Map change - Map change - Map change - Gameplay change (Mystery FFA)

It is FFA but Mystery plays differently from the other 3 possible cards.

As for the space problem it can be solved by moving QP classic out of the arcade and by moving future comp arcade modes to the comp tab.

Missed the point

So basically you want them to cater to you and forget everyone else, yeah?

ok.

I highly agree. I hate Mystery Heroes. FFA and Mystery Heroes combined is NOT the same as FFA. It doesn’t have the same quality to me. It’s not fun. I feel like they should just have everything up at once or something so we can actually pick what we want to do.
It’s also hard to practice or warm up if I can’t pick the hero I want. :
They should DEFINITELY remain separate games. I hate that they were ever combined.

Imagine if every four days Quick Play was replaced with Mystery Heroes. You wouldn’t defend that by telling quick-players to just wait a day.

I play most of the roster and am not trash on a decent bit of it.

Mystery FFA doesn’t reflect how skilled you are with the roster at all, and really just amplifies the crap out of RNG.

It’s about as similar as MH is to no limits. Both are 6v6 but it basically ends there.

Do you mean Quick Play Classic? QP isn’t even in the arcade mode.

Agreed. This is why I love mirrored deathmatch. Totally fair. Nothing is more annoying than joining FFA and it’s just 4 Roadhogs and miscellaneous McCrees, Junks, and Doomfists running around. With the occasional surprise sniper.
