4 golds as Zayra. Still didn’t get a card. That’s just how bad the DPS was. Why do I deserve to lose SR? That’s people’s biggest frustration with this game. You reward people with SR for getting carried to a win, and you take away SR from people who actually perform their role in a match well. Also this isn’t about whether I deserve to be plat, diamond, master, GM, >500 or whatever. This simply about the reward system for matches.
So you were the 7th best player in a match but you complain you lost? You also sound like a sub-diamond player that can’t tell they’re the one that’s bad, not their teammates. Given that, you should know that below diamond your performance affects how much SR you gain or lose, so if by some mysterious magic you were indeed outperforming your rank (stat wise) you would still be climbing even with negative winrate. But in all likelyhood, as I said in my first sentence, you were only (stat wise) better than your 5 teammates (really just 2, the dps), you were probably still worse than the enemy 3 players (off-tank+2dps). Learn some introspection and your “bad teammates” will mysteriously vanish.
You do realize that this is a team game right? Jesus Christ, you’re arguing for the sake of arguing. How do you even deduce that I’m the seventh best player in the match? That’s just like saying Kevin Durant was the 6th best player in the finals because his team lost. You’re not even making sense. Winning or losing doesn’t determine whether you’re good or not. The fact that I have 4 golds and greater than 60 average energy with a subpar team proved that I went beyond pulling my weight.
hello my name is raven, i play a game called overwatch and i like to blame everyone else when i lose. it makes me not feel so sad and i dont have to think about what i do wrong and how i can improve:)
It sucks to lose games where you can’t reasonably be expected to do more and your team is a bunch of useless bots. But if winning and losing didn’t matter in this game there would be no reason to ever cap a point or push a payload. Also you have to admit that sometimes we are the bots on our team or at least a large part of the reason for losing.
You’re right, it’s my fault my mccree can’t aim, my mei can’t freeze hammond. It’s my fault I’m 100% energy every fight while my dps around me gets picked off before the fight even starts. Guess I need to carry harder.
Its easy to tell given your attitude, lack of introspection ability and blaming your team that you’re not good. Nobody who is half decent would ever view things that way. Also you have no idea whether the 3 players on the enemy team were playing better than you or not, let me guess, you didn’t bother to check the replay? Right, wonder why.
Actually that is the only indication of whether someone is good or bad. In fact, I can win 100% of games up to diamond, 90% up to GM and 70% up to mid top 500 (at least when I used to play regularly). That should tell you all you need to know about skill and its impact on wins or losses.
No, it doesn’t. You could have had 5 elims with 3k damage in an 8 minute game. Pulling your weight only means you’d win about half the games you play, in case you didn’t know.
Totally agree, I have had matches where I’m totally useless to my team. Where I’m dps and I have no medals. But by these guys’ logic, it’s the person’s fault on my team who has the gold medals.
Yes, use that extra focus you can get from not criticizing your team and play better yourself. Maybe even review your own gameplay and analyze it, because let me tell you, whatever the rank you are, you’re not any better than your teammates. Otherwise this thread wouldn’t exist.
Listen, I know you’re trying to help me, and I appreciate that. I’m at the rank I deserve, I’m not complaining about that. I’m complaining about the fact that I can perform well and lose SR. Vs. getting carried in some matches and gaining SR. The game is too much of a coin toss.
This is BECAUSE it is a team based game. Sometimes you’ll be able to effect the outcome. Sometimes you’ll only be able to affect it. Sometimes it doesn’t matter what you do. This is because there are 11 other people, just like you, in the game. Whoever the playmaker is on a team, the other 5 contribute or are irrelevant. Maybe you’re a superstar that doesn’t play with the team - you can pick out 1v1s and win a couple before the team fight begins, but you don’t help your team with their fights and they lose - this could be for any number of reasons from awareness to proximity to line of sight.
TL;DR - medals are meaningless, timing is just as important as the action itself.
A perfectly balanced elo system would have you lose or gain SR on a regular basis averaging to a 50% winrate, aka coin toss. Thats how it works when teams are evenly matched. That’s how its supposed to work. If you want a carebear everybody is a winner anti-competitive system play hearthstone. Or get better. You already lose less SR and gain more if you outperform average player on that map on that hero in sub-diamond ranks.
no its about teamwork"most of the times" But starting a post with blaming others and messauring your own performance as tank by medals you dont deserve any better answer. atleast you dont have ANY clue about the job of a dps. its more than medals. they should protect the healers. make the tanks turn shields so team can move in.“if they get a pick when thats happening well thats great”
Your medals dont show Shi*t about how you tanked or if you helped your team win or lose.
The main reason I don’t like PBSR is that I often don’t agree with its evaluations. I’ve had games where I felt like I completely carried and got +22. And games where I did absolutely nothing and got +24. If I can’t even trust the game to create balanced matches most of the time, how am I supposed to trust it to judge my performance correctly based on numbers alone?
The game isn’t about cards, its about winning. Someone has to get the cards doesn’t mean that person played well either. I’m sure you had a good game and all but getting 4 golds as Zarya is no big deal. I’m out here getting gold as Sigma and WINNING
I’d be happy to get one game without a thrower… 6 games in a row now with one player standing in the corner shooting the wall the entire match… oh they happen to be the healer, and thanks to this TERRIBLE role queue garbage, nobody can swap to help make up for the child that was dumped on our team. GG Jeff, this system is a trash fire
How many gold medals nor having bad DPS impacts dictates whether you get a card.
Seriously…
With bad DPS it should just mean it is your opportunity to frag out more, basically getting the picks you’d normally get plus getting the ones that they should be.
I actually don’t mind those kind of games, because it usually means there is someone equally trash on the other side and it just means it is time for me to clean-up.
So what were your stats for this game? I’m guessing if you played as well as you seem to think you were you would have easily been over 14k damage and at least into the early 40 elims wise right?
