i queued with my friends for 4 games, won the first two and gained 31 sr in total and then lost 2 games and lost 60 sr. Why do i lose such an absurd amount and gain so little when the games are still balanced?
The system looks at your performance in comparison to those in your rank for that same hero at below diamond, if you are fighting against lower ranked enemies you get less SR.
Put it like this, in an RPG you may get 10XP for fighting a level 1 enemy while you are at level one but when you hit level 10 and fight the same enemy you may only get 1XP.
The game figures if you are so much better than the lower ranked players you should be fighting against higher ranked teams.
So when you win a lower ranked match the game goes “Okay? Good job I guess?” and gives you a small reward for doing what you should, beating someone lower ranked than you.
You’re winning and losing against people who should be objectively worse than you.
Of course you’re going to gain less and lose more, because winning against Silvers says nothing about your potential for winning in Plat, and losing to Silvers probably means that if you can’t handle them, then you shouldn’t be as high as Plat.
If your profile was public, we would be able to tell you why you’re not worthy of your SR in that Scenario.
I’d rather we just made the current comp system solo queue only. Similar to HOTS, they should make a separate rating for teams that don’t impact your solo queue SRs.
Eliminating grouping for solo queue comp would benefit the whole system in a few ways:
- No more boosting of “friends”
- No more six stack thrower groups
- Less incentive to throw because of the two above reasons
I get it, it should be even. Each team has 1 low rank, 4 middle ranks, and 1 high rank, so your chances of winning are equal. Got it.
The problem is, the high ranks have a higher ability to impact the game than the low or middle ranks in the same game. Thus, they are rewarded less for winning and punished harder for losing. This isn’t just you, it’s also the high ranked player on the enemy team.
(Plus, nobody wants to see that silver-plat, bronze-gold, or gold-diamond duo in their game. God forbid the higher rank is on something like mercy while the lower rank is on a skill hero.)
Yes but my team is also lower ranked then the enemy team, meaning id have to carry harder
Your team’s rank doesnt matter here, if you are beating people who are lower rank than you then you will gain less SR.
That’s not really fair though, and it only encouraged boosting.
Since 4 golds and 2 diamonds can have a really hard time against 6 plats.
But if the team with the gold win, the gold players will gain more sr while the diamond will gain less. That’s why boosting existed.
Except the games aren’t balanced because you’re smurfing.
You should buy another account to play with your friend
Don’t queue for a competitive game with people who aren’t equally as skilled as you.
It’s what a lot of games do to combat boosting.
In my opinion, games should take the ranking of the highest player in the group, and then let anyone team up that would like. If a bronze player wanted to queue with their top 500 friend, it would be fine. They’d just have to play against 6 top 500 players.
Then they could perm. ban any accounts that drop multiple tiers in order to combat the “friends” from throwing games to avoid the higher tiered games.
